s/o: Popular Thanksgiving foods you cannot stand

The funny thing is there is not one version of stuffing. Do you dislike bread? Or just the stuffing you have experienced? Most people prefer the stuffing that they ate growing up. For me, it was butter, celery, onions, poultry seasoning, chicken broth and bread cubes baked in a loaf pan. For my husband it was sage, sage, sage, butter, celery, sage, bread cubes, sage, onions, broth and sage stuffed into the bird.

I think that anyone who says they do not like stuffing has never had good stuffing. Most people have had a dry, crumbly flavorless mess or a a gummy, gooey wad of white bread that tastes like glue. And boxed stuffing is inedible. If you don't like bread stuffing, try a wild rice stuffing. There are too many versions of delicious stuffing to just cross it off your list.

cranberry sauce. why? for the love of god why would I put congealed cranberry goo on my warm delicious food?

who on earth thought that delicious turkey and stuffing and cornbread would be somehow improved by adding congealed cranberry goo on it?

I also hate casseroles and prefer sauteed veggies.

I love love love cranberry sauce from a can. It's got to be opened on both ends so that it slides out in a red log and then sliced into perfect discs. Yummy on leftover sandwiches! I am a serious foodie and excellent cook. But there is something so nostalgic about the stuff that just transports me back to the Thanksgivings of my childhood in a special way. I can't walk past the supermarket shelves without grabbing a can.

Totally love cranberry from a can too.

OMG - me too. I think the first time I had real cranberry sauce, I just looked at it like "WTF is this, its not shaped like the can at all."

I dislike pumpkin pie.

Because some of us were served dry, flavorless turkey as kids. That cranberry sauce made it edible!

Any stuffing that is not cornbread.

Cranberry sauce

Sweet potatoes in any iteration.

No one has ever served me green bean casserole but that is on the list in theory.

Agree. It's a rough meal to sit through.

That's why you have a potluck Thanksgiving. Or it doesn't even have to be potluck. You bring something you know you will like.
I can't stand rolls, casseroles, cranberry, mash potatoes and multiples of pies.
Being from another country, I bring eggrolls. Not traditional I know, but people gobble them up so fast!
