Again most of the Asians in the area are just motivated hardworking middle class. They are part of the 99%. |
Wow, feed someone a little propaganda. You clearly don't understand the Occupy movement. Did you really just compare an educational institution to Wall Street excesses? Really? We shouldn't have an advanced institution because most people aren't that advanced? WTH? |
You are elitist scum, hiding behind concepts of meritocracy that ignore the financial and familial advantages you were born with. Today, McPherson Square. Tomorrow, Braddock Road. Occupy DC. Occupy TJ. We are the 99%. |
Are you for real? Because you're really coming off like an idiot. No wonder TJ rejected your spawn. |
What you think 99% is 1% - those who don't have a job and receive welfare/food stamps. Get a job. |
Get a job and get off this board. |
No surprise that those who favor trickle down economics favor trickle down education.
Change is coming. You can embrace it or ignore it. http://www.ed.gov/news/press-releases/new-guidance-supports-voluntary-efforts-promote-diversity-and-reduce-racial-isol |
Latinos and Blacks are the 99%? |
1% send their kids to expensive private schools like president Obama.
If people send their kids to public schools, the chance is that they are not part of the 1%. TJ is a public school, and you have to earn your way in. It needs to be fair. You shoudn't get advantage just because of your skin color. |

A racial gap for criminals seeking mercy Review of selection process over the past decade shows results have heavily favored whites By Dafna Linzer, Sunday, December 04,12:20 AM This is a great article in Post Today...and so analogous to current TJ admissions process. Truth is, the admissions office does not ask or consider race, but the results are highly scewed in favor of whites and asians. You must have a family that is able and motivated to give you a whole lot of support, lots of extra resources in time/money/discipline/transport to extracullicular activities, to be successful in the TJ admissions process. |
Truth is, you are wrong. |
TJ is a public school and it should be for students who live near TJ, not the 1% ers. It is wrong to overcrowd other schools and force students who live near TJ to cross major highways to attend school because they are not considered good enough. Stop favoring wealthy whites and Asians and give us back our community school now. |
Not true. Admissions office/application *DOES* ask for race/ethnicity of each student on the application for TJ. |
Huh? I live walking distance to tj. The zoned high school is Annandale and you don't need to take any highways to get there. |
Students living close to TJ will be forced to cross both 395 and 495 to attend Edison next year.
We want our neighborhood school back. Enough is enough. |
