Nothing was done in NYC that warranted bussing kids there and staying overnight. We would have been happy if they did something that warranted the trip.

Everything that happened in NYC was just a pit stop. I have made plenty of trips to NYC myself with kids and these would always be low priority fillers if there was extra time.
