Arlington RL to ECNL

Not only did none of the PA2 move up, none of the 2013 red girls repeating the year moved up either. Such bs.

Sounds like SYC, the only kids that moved up as far as anyone can tell were from outside the club. And likewise, kids who were not offered 1st team spots, tried out elsewhere and were offered 1st team slots at multiple clubs.

Haha. They never do. Arlington is a joke.

Arlington RL/PA2 is the black hole of soccer death. You are there to finance the top team.

RL/PA2 at Arlington is a totally fine program for kids who are throwing in the towel on soccer. The winners of the loser bracket.

The coaches are horrendous. There is a huge gap between PA1/NL and PA2/RL coaching and it is by design.

There is no 2014 ECNL team until next year at U13. There is only 2014 PA1 and PA2 (pre-ECNL). I think the conversation you are referencing is the number of outside players that got offered for the 2026-27 ECNL team for U13.

The question perhaps you want answered is on the girls side, did any PA2 players make next year’s ECNL team.

Obviously I meant next year. No my question was if 5-6 outside players made that team, were they NVA transplants that RP is bringing over? Because there were maybe 5-6 outside girls trying out and only a couple made any impression at the tryouts. So who are these supposed outsiders? I suspect it is NVA.

There wasn’t 5-6 outside players that made the team, it’s a lot less than that. And only 1 from nva

How many outside players including the one Nva?

I think around 3ish. A few 2013 move downs (the worst players on an already bad team), a few new girls.

It is a difficult thing for RL kids to overcome, the lack of training and playing competition after the first ECNL year, unless your kid is doing way more outside training, which the NL kids are also doing. So, is your kid practicing more, playing against better competition, and training more outside of club practices? If you can’t say absolutely yes, then you really shouldn’t think your DC is in the same boat, neither should the coaches.

100 percent correct. As good as my kid is, by age 14 there is no way to make up the gap. Parents are deluded. But I do also fault the clubs, who give the illusion of development and advancement. It won’t happen by HS so don’t expect it. And that is the right thing, actually, but definitely disingenuous of the clubs to suggest that it can happen.

One maybe two. A couple of 2013s coming down.

And as they enter HS, RL teams change quickly. One or two girls finally get ECNL, 1 or 2 leave for GA, 1 or 2 stop playing because of interest in other sports. And just like that your RL team goes from really good to average.

God this is so true. I can speak based on experience.

This is the curse of being on a 2nd team. This is exactly what happened with our 2nd team.

I thought from that other thread that started this rumor that it wasn’t clear if those numbers for boys vs girls. I had assumed boys at the time because something close to half the 2013 ECNL team was dropping down (6 or 8 kids, a crazy large number) and very few 2014 PA1/2 kids got offers, which would have left 5-6 spots open for external players.

So maybe that’s why PP is confused about the lack of non-Arlington backpacks at tryouts?

I agree with this, but why not give the equally good kid on the red team who has been loyal to the club the chance? It's so frustrating. My kid with the 4x a week practice would be crushing it.

Because Arlington cares nothing for club loyalty, and SH/EG, who created the team for a new coach, doesn’t even know who your PA2 kid is. You are there to provide financial support to the top team, simple as. I mean just look at the dolt who is coaching your team this/next year. Arlington could not care less about your RL team and they’re telling you in 100 different ways, you’re just too fixated on staying at the club in your backyard to notice because it’s comfortable and easy. Rile yourself up again next year, clinging to every word they string you along with, you still won’t make the NL team. Get a chair, settle in, pour the chardonnay, accept it, and be sure to write your check and give to the Kenmore fields - this is your life now.
