Talarico or Crockett?

Talarico is anti-AiPAC. Crockett is not. That's a big reason why he won. Let's get all the AIPAC leeches out of office.

Great result. Talarico has a real shot. And Conryn and Paxton are heading for a run off. Conryn has already spent $71 million. Republicans spending more than $150 million on a losing Senate seat would be pretty awesome.

Take a look at the map. Talarico is absolutely dominating the border counties.

True. But only 62% of the votes in, and still a whole lot of votes outstanding from Dallas which is Crockett's strength. Legit news outlets haven't called the race for a reason.

It’s good they are not calling while the legal issue is active but she doesn’t have the votes w/or without Dallas. She was trailing something like 60/40 in the early vote.

I love her and Talerico. They both have their strengths. I hope everyone gets behind the winner.

This. Crockett's talents are wasted in a do-nothing Congress.

I like both her and Talerico too, but you don't understand the math behind the votes. As long as we don't have more of the results from Dallas, Crockett still could win. I agree it seems unlikely, but I don't have a magic machine to see what those Dallas votes look like, and there are a lot of them.

+35% of the votes are still outstanding.

Paxton is such an undemocratic tool.

The process of tallying primary ballots in Texas’ second-most-populous county was thrown into uncertainty on Tuesday evening when the State Supreme Court temporarily blocked an earlier court ruling allowing voters more time to cast ballots.

Earlier in the day, a district judge had ordered Dallas County to keep its polling places open to Democrats for an additional two hours, until 9 p.m. local time, over concerns that a rule change about where to vote had caused “mass confusion” among voters weighing in on consequential House and Senate contests.

But the Texas Supreme Court, in a ruling just before 8:30 p.m. local time, said that “votes cast by voters who were not in line to vote at 7 p.m. should be separated.” Paul Adams, the Dallas County election administrator, confirmed that the votes would not be counted, and instead segregated the ballots pending further legal challenges.

The challenge to the lower court’s ruling came from the office of Ken Paxton, the hard-line state attorney general who is running against Senator John Cornyn in a bitter Republican primary.

“We have a duty to make sure the law is followed in Texas,” said Brent Webster, the first assistant attorney general to Mr. Paxton, adding that it was his name rather than Mr. Paxton’s name on the filing “so that there’s no appearance of impropriety.”

I live in Dallas. Tons of Talarico signs in yards, very few for Crockett. This was a foregone conclusion.

That Paxton/cornyn race is going to be quite the show. They are incredibly close in votes.

Texas sure seems to love their adulterers. Tony Gonzales also went into a runoff for his House seat.

I hope Talarico is a formidable candidate and not just "Beto 2.0".

Flipping a Texas seat is incredibly hard, but if any Dem has a shot it's Talarico.

I think there is more potential for crossover from Rs for Talarico than there was for Beto. Especially if Paxton is the nominee. He would have a harder time against Cornyn. Hopefully Crockett can lick her wounds for a bit but then put on a brave face to get her core supporters to the polls in November because James can't win without them. (I am in Texas.)
