When did the students vote? Mine didn't and he opted in. If you mean they had to choose between two names or the culled list of 10 awful names then that wasn't helpful.

How do you get to 5? From what I have observed, Dunne, R. Anderson, and Meren ask questions but usually end up voting with Reid anyway. (The Hatfield report is still not public- Dunne totally caved on that).

What additional two do you think actually question Reid?

It was Reid who led off the first briefing on the new high school with an hour discussion about naming the school. And, then she did not go with what the community wanted. She chose a bunch of ridiculous names on the list along with the made up "Skyview" that Lady says was chosen because of the sunsets? Really?

Forget the name. I think it will be a magnet. The sad truth is that our population is declining in terms of children. It peaked with the 2025 class and it's going to now wither away on the vine based on enrollments in earlier grades- 10-20%, difficult to say but people are not having their 2.3 population replacement kids and FCPS will solve its over-enrollment organically by people refusing to have 3+ kids.

Chantilly and Westfield have both gained kids since the beginning of this year. And, Chantilly is due to get more kids next year from the boundary study. Go figure.

Regardless of if this is true nationally, it is not true for all parts of the county. The schools in the western part of Fairfax County are gaining students, as are the ones around Tysons. Capacity relief is needed and will continue to be needed in the future. That is why we overwhelmingly rejected the magnet idea and the board voted it down. You need to give it up, you lost that battle already.
