NVA and SYC teams are suffering losses at all age groups…

This is definitely a troll trying to stir the pot. SYC only lost a few girls, but what about the new players who already committed at their ID sessions that you’re not mentioning? Love to see SYC living rent‑free in your mind. 😉

They’re losing the stronger girls and being replaced by girls not as strong. Generally not how to build stronger teams.

You may be a troll. The strong teams lose 1 or 2 players . It is normal. And these players usually get replaced by good players. Nothing to see here. By the way some of the replacements can teach your DD how to play soccer just for the records so stop talking about other players.

Losing one to two of the best players is not normal but keep clinging on.

Some teams will actually play better without their "best" player who is not "team" player.

Losing one of your strongest players is not a positive no matter how you try to spin it. The team may still be competitive in GA but only because NVA and likely Alexandria are also losing players. The rest of the field will make up ground.

I'm not talking about DMV teams so no one kid is being singled out. There absolutely can be a team getting better after a "star" departs because every single action is played through them at the cost of the rest of the team. I have seen it first hand.

The most successful teams I played on were ones that were rooted in this team concept, the top players were great leaders and teammates. We had each others back and would run through a wall for each other. Club hopping to form "dream teams" rarely works out the way you think it will. I sometimes feel bad for the perennial club hoppers as they will never have this true feeling of team.

Lyndon Baines Johnson? He did have an incredible team, Dean Rusk, Robert McNamara and who can forget Bobby Kennedy?

Still, mistakes were made. McNamara, too much of a ball hog, not a team player.

Correct. However, they (being the club) aren't really interested in open tryouts. They will just be a song and dance for the masses. They are trying to get the rosters solidified ahead of time.

- The Arlington 2013s have a goal difference of 41 and 2011s have a goal difference of 35 so there is some talent there. Seems likely many move to GA.
- FVU will have talent leave that is replaced by lesser talent. They will always be able to field a team due to the badge but the quality is going down.
- VDA is definitely picking up players from NVA and SYC across 2013-2011 age groups.

Have the current VDA players been notified?

At most, maybe one or two SYC players would even consider leaving. The drive to VDA just doesn’t make sense for SYC families. I do wonder whether current VDA players have actually received offers or know if they have roster spots for next year. Based on how things look this winter, I wouldn’t feel very confident in VDA’s leadership

SYC has a really wide range. They recruit 10 year olds with Instagram pages from all over the DMV.

You all realize the coaches know the names from signing up for IDs. Numerous girls are giving offers without showing up. I know one child has offers from every single team in area. If you kid doesn't have any other then there own club i suggest you don't bother.

This only happens at non-serious clubs. If this applies to you, then you are at a non-serious club. Serious clubs wiil recruit, yes, but they will also want to see how recruits will do in IDs against serious players, i.e, their own players. You can tell if your club is serious if they give offers to players before they see how they match up with potentials from IDs. If you are are a club that has already given offers, you are at a non-serious club. Serious clubs are not worried about their players moving, because serious clubs are the best at lace to be. Period.
