Yeah? I seem to remember in 2024...we had a budget for some agency… USAID? This CR restores USAID funding? |
Worrying about the scraps the poor (US citizens or otherwise) receive marks you for a fool. The rich and powerful are selling this country down the river, destroying the environment, and ruining your kids’ and grandkids’ futures RIGHT NOW. For the love of God, pull your head out of your @$$. |
Yes, it would. |
What would Trump do with that funding though? Send it to his buddy in Argentina? Save it for himself? We all (Trump supporters and haters) know that he's a conman snake who won't keep his word or follow the law. He never has and never will. |
And then it becomes your boys slush fund to send to Argentina. Nope. Republicans broke this process beginning with DOGE. They have no reasonable expectation that anyone should support the way their governing. |
You might be right. But that’s for the courts to decide. Not Rep. Ocasio-Cortez to decide. |
Trump ignores the courts. We've all been watching this destructive game for 10 months. So you're saying that the Democrats should simply rubberstamp Trump's plans to loot the country for his own ends? |
| "He's not listening to concerns about lowering costs. Instead he's worried about decorating his new Marie Antoinette ballroom or engaging in trying to figure out how to get his name on more statues and stadiums, or he's sitting across the table in the Oval Office with authoritarians." |
I’m saying the Democrats should reopen the government. Then hold a separate vote on the unrelated ACS subsidies. |
Agreed. This is what changed the game. DOGE came in without oversight, made changes that drastically changed the fundamentals of our government, gave no proven benefit, and then dipped out without transparency or any reasonable audit, at least as far as I can see. It has to be cards on the table, right now -- not promises, and not "it will be taken care of." This can't move forward as it would have 2, or 4, or 6 years ago. This has to be transparent, now. |
Has Thune and Johnson committed to that? |
Well, the money sent to Argentina is gone. How about taking it from what we pay to subsidize fossil fuels and tax breaks to big oil? |
|
NYT reporting Trump administration demanding states undo work already done to issue food stamps.
For an administration blaming Democrats, Trump sure is working ridiculously hard not to feed people despite court order after court order. |
Then why is Trump blocking the release of the Epstein files? Something he ran on. And not it’s a hoax? |
Our form of government require compromise to get bills through Congress and the presidential signature. the GOP decided to go it alone in passing the BBB. Now the GOP wants the democrats to simply dign on to the BBB without any concession or compromise. Sorry, that isn't happening. And the American public, though polling and election results, know who is responsible for this. The pressure is on the GOP, and if the politicians think it will be a smooth ride to have hungry, cold and desperate people all because of the Epstein Files and covering for the billionaires, they have another thing coming. |
