The truth is that there was natural grass before and I guess it’s reasonable a request to keep a similar environment regardless you buy or not plastic items from china.

Why is it a reasonable request? You don’t own that land. Do you tell your neighbor what kind of flowers to plant or demand that they independently test the mulch or the fertilizer that they buy for their property so that they can prove to you it meets whatever made up safety standard you have in your head?

Whoever vandalized the score board is both a lunatic and a complete loser, not to mention a terrible role model

There is security footage. I hope they get arrested and fined.

Well, do you live near an athletic field? Do you know that synthetic turf traps more heat? Probably not. Of course it’s easy to say that neighbors are crazy when you are not affected by the field.

And I hope that maret improves security at the field. You don’t see vandalism in private schools in dc because they have security measures.

The neighborhood agreement is for the fields to be open for community use at certain hours every day. It reflects poorly on that neighborhood if people use the community hours to vandalize the property.

There are at least three yards in CC DC where the owner decided to turf their lawn. I don’t think it looks good…but why would I care if they did it?

Do you live in the city? Do you drive a car? Do you use the roads? How much of the hardscape you own is designed to minimize heat retention? Is all your pavement permeable pavement? Do you have a lawn? Lawns are bad for the environment and are heat sinks vs wildflowers gardens. What does the roof you live under look like?

You maga trumpers are crazy. Now you support property destruction because you did not get your way? Wonder how much damage your vandalism caused to the environment releasing harmful VOCs and the cost of repairing or replacing the damage area?

I guess you would not be upset if someone vandalized the houses in the neighborhood displaying the anti field signs?

Maret needs to shut off neighbors access now.

The GDS and Beavoir playgrounds are open to the public…is your view that they should be shut because someone may possibly vandalize them? Maret is allowing DCPS and the public to use these fields…you are against that too?

You can open it to the community with security in the premises. If that happened nobody was checking.

So you think the school should pay for round the clock security guards so nobody vandalizes the field?

These aren’t prisons with razor wire on the fences. I assume they locked the gates but it’s not difficult for someone to jump the fence…the same as it’s not difficult to jump the STA or GDS fences.

If people have their cars broken into on the street (which happens often), do you blame people for parking on the street?

Yes. They should have parked in their six car garage with private security.

Well, that’s what schools do.

Schools that actually have their athletic fields at their school. Maret has to bus their kids to this remote field for practices and games. So it’s harder to have security there. They can no longer rely on DC DPR for security. Entirely foreseeable problem.

Of course. It’s not that dc is the safest city ever. Security is needed.
