This mama heart is fully broken for these babies, and I can’t reconcile any of the decisions the parents made.

At this point, it’s hearsay. Police have not officially confirmed that so how would MVP know for sure it’s one of their swimmers? Just because PP knows this family/situation doesn’t mean that official information has been released to involve parties.

They should send out an email based on something they “heard“? Obviously information should be disseminated once verified by authorities. But since they sent the initial email families should be checking in with their kids regardless.

DC Police had a report about the abuse to the first victim back in 2023 and did nothing. For the sake of the children on MVP, information should be sent out quickly. If you’re waiting for DC police to verify that these victims are on MVP Dolphins, you might be waiting awhile.

I don't understand why you think this is a swim problem or MVP problem. So far, the victims are neighbors in the same apartment building.

It sounds like he groomed MVP children and their families but the abuse happened at his apartment. (Or did the grooming/abuse come first and then the encouragement to join the swim team???) Until information comes out that he victimized children at a practice and/or meet, I won’t hold MVP responsible.

I’ve talked with my kids and feel confident that nothing happened. He did take some beautiful pictures of the kids that I don’t think I’ll be able to look at again. I hope the police are looking at his computers.

The family has lived in DC for many years. Their kids have been to school, camps, swim and other sports activities. Thomas and his wife have had several jobs. I’m sure I’m not the only one who is acquainted with them.

Yep they have been all around DC- I remember I spoke to him very briefly once at a swim meet.
