Red States and Climate Change

Yes, the sky is falling, we are all doomed, just like in the 1970s when the Ice Age was coming to put us all in deep freeze.

And just like Harold Camping sagely declaring the end of the world, so too are The Climate Prophets of Doom declaring the end of the world.

There will be a climate disaster one day:

And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood — Revelation 8:8

We’re apparently supposed to believe a single cherry-picking Bible-thumping fundamentalist over decades of scientific study and research.

I guess we get to dismiss the entire Bible too because a few nutty Christian “prophets” made wrong predictions in the 1800’s. Checkmate!

Your “decades of study” amounts to, “Yup, temperature rose a bit…yup, went down a bit too. Temperature fluctuates…CLIMATE CHANGE OMG WE ALL GONNA DIE!!!”

It is interesting to observe the people whining about the climate declaring we should force people to be poorer to “save the planet” are Democrats, who are some of the most stupid and evil people in America, their counterpart the Labour Party in the U.K.

The reason Republicans do not accept Climate Change is because Democrats (stupid people) demand like Greta Kookoobird we pay lots and lots of money to “fix” the “problem”.

Republicans ask a simple question: how many dollars spent (x) will result in (y) degrees of temperature lowering?

There is no answer but threats of political vengeance and shouts of WE GONNA DIE!

Take your Climate Baloney and shove it.

Just look at what you’ve become.

Let’s all hope those girls are found safely. Until then, you can keep spinning this for political gains.

Trump golfed and ate ice cream instead of visiting Texas and hasn’t expressed one word of sympathy to the families. I’m sure you’re disgusted with him too, right?

Trump and sympathy don't go together. He's just disgusted by the idea that this happened during his big beautiful presidency. The nerve of water.

You are an ignorant fool who has clearly been led astray by deranged and dishonest right wing talking heads at the expense of actually understanding the subject at hand.

The “coming ice age” thing in the 70s was not really a thing - it was based on ONE questionable, and debunked paper, not reflective of the mainstream, but it was unfortunately picked up in some parts of the clueless media and hyped. But the fact that you are trying to use it now to beat up on science and sow FUD demonstrates either your own cluelessness or your own intellectual dishonesty. Either way you should fix that.

All of that is irrelevant to climate change. If your area is a climate refuge or less vulnerable to the changes then sit tight and mock anyone commenting on climate change. If your area is vulnerable then it's vulnerable and the lack of preparation and engineering will result in damage... Possibly more fire, possibly more flooding, possibly more wind, possibly more drought. If it gets bad enough your neighbors will leave and I guess leave you behind a fend for yourself. Good luck!

Republicans don't care.

Obama sent a message in support of the a Texas residents. Mexico sent firefighters to help do rescue and recovery.

Republicans sent a whole army of ICE, Marines, Humvees etc to raid one park in California with kids playing in it. While all this was going on. Instead of sending them to Texas to help.

There was a flood warning system in place. The GOP dismantled it. The MAGA voters voted for it.

We're taking a look,
We're taking a look at it.
There was a flood,
A flood involving water.

Spot on!

There was a lot of extra water,
So we're taking a look at it.

Climate Change = Climate FUD
The Climate Boogyman is on the way
He could be here any decade
You should be really scared and afraid
But if you pay enough money he might go away!

Since 1969 to 1976, Science magazine, Science News, and various newspapers and magazines declared with certainty a Coming Ice Age, the same certainty declared about Global Warming and now [play scary music and wooo noises], Climate Change.

“Critics will say there was no scientific consensus in the 1970s that the world was cooling, but that’s not how the media reported it to the public.”
(washingtonpolicy.org “Today It’s Global Warming; In the ‘70s It was the Coming Ice Age”)

There is going to be some warming, all right:

And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory. (Revelation 16:9)

Eh, who am I kidding? You’re incapable of that. It’s what you do - because you hate 1/2 the country.

Eff off with your crap. I hate your ignorance and stupidity.

Name calling, conspiracy thinking, scientific illiteracy, and all-caps ranting aren’t arguments. Try again, but like a sane adult.

It's so weird...

If the scientists are wrong about climate change and we implement potential solutions and nothing actually happens, then we just get some interesting different technology. No biggie.

If the scientists are right, and we do nothing, residents of many areas are completely screwed and many people eventually die.

Why so much opposition?

Doesn't make any sense to me, unless they value money more than saving people's lives.

Obama's science adviser had a paper about it. His recommended solution was to release lots of black carbon to melt the Arctic.

Nothing changes because the fissil fuel industry is getting rich off of continuing to harm the planet and has literally spent billions to get fools like the dishonest “climate baloney” poster above to spread denial, doubt and attacks undermining the ability to change. They have literally spent billions on climate denial. Whereas I cannot think of a single climate scientist who is living high on the hog with mega yachts in Greece and multimillion dollar mansions bought with money made from promoting climate change. There is no profit motive in speaking the truth of climate change, only in denial of that reality. And it’s not even news that these scientists want to be bringing to the world, it’s news that they have to bring to the world because it’s killing people. Over 100 in Texas as its latest victims. Climate scientists get no joy from this, no profit, they are just trying to save lives and fix the planet.
