Red States and Climate Change

Yes, bozo, Central Texas is prone to flash flooding.

But this event is more intense than usual:

"More than an entire summer’s worth of rain fell in some spots in just a few hours"

No shit Sherlock, but there will be more flash floods with higher intensity in the coming years due to human-induced climate change.

Climate change is making extreme weather events more frequent and intense, including flash floods. Canadian Climate Institute research shows that flood damage could increase significantly in the coming decades if adaptation measures are not taken.

Eh, who am I kidding? You’re incapable of that. It’s what you do - because you hate 1/2 the country.

Please if Dems were responsible for this Trump would be scream blathering on tv already.

Failure to even acknowledged climate change—the river flooded well beyond its 100 year flood plane. Double down by killing clean energy and boosting fossil fuels.

Gut NWS and NOAA so predictions are bad and warnings are late and non existent.

Gross disgusting murderers.

China has double US emissions, and India is closing in on the US as well. The rest of the world outside Europe and US and China and India has more emissions than US and Europe combined.
Science says you have to cut around 90% of emissions, not the 15% that US or Europe has.
And these 15-30% cuts do not eliminate 15-30% of global warming either.

So what’s your solution? Wave goodbye to Miami and Bangladesh?

It’s funny how MAGA thinks we can “make a deal” with China on tariffs but “making a deal” on carbon emissions is an impossibility. But fundamentally you just don’t care. You doubted the science for thirty years, and when your own eyes started corroborating climate predictions, you turned around and said “oh well, too late”.

At this point you are probably correct, and it is too late. We could have taken action anytime in the last thirty years to avoid this but didn’t.

I hope you rot in Hell.

Oh and I didn't hate you before, but I despise you now MAGA do yes, its evidently a self fulfilling prophecy.

You had better hope Trump lives to 150 years. Pray on it

I’m crushed. I don’t hate you. Rather, I’m amused by you. Like a plaything, or a folly.

Aww, MAGA, You say the sweetest things.

Stick your fingers in your ears. Stick out your tongue and say la la la la. Cancel all the science research to look into the phenomenons. Fire everyone at the weather service get rid of our ability to warn and predict and understand. Doesn't change what's happening at all. It it is coming for you and me. It's coming for our children

I guess understanding climate is a waste of money.

It's not a waste of money if you're an insurance company. It is their business and they want to know where to get out and that's what they do.

no need for name-calling but yes, bad weather events have happened since the beginning of time. We humans are not going to well-behave ourselves out of weather-related tragedies.

PP, citing a Wikipedia page of a single event as your argument is embarrassing. Do you know anything about climate science?

You do know that anthropogenic (Google the meaning of the word) climate change accelerated significantly with the Industrial Revolution (Google that term as well for historical context). We have been contributing more CO2 emissions into the atmosphere since then not to mention all of the other human-made contaminants we are releasing into the environment.

It's 2025. We have the ability to study and understand the weather and the climate. You don't need to sit there like a sucker if you would just invest in protecting yourself from sitting there like a sucker.

Not to mention the army and the navy. Climate change is definitely on their radar in terms of its impact on military strategy and infrastructure.

Yeah, I said none of that. So we have that. I am stating the reality that the entire thread basis is dumb - constantly referring to everything as climate change related is moronic. Likewise moronic is to then write up a low energy thread entitled “Red States and Climate Change”
