The future looks pretty depressing for our kids

Gaslighting: Trump signing a memo (EO) suggesting raising the salaries of police officers.

Gaslighting would be posting police officers are for Democrats because of a bill they introduced to increase pay. Police don't support Democrats. Even after J6 they still don't support Democrats. That's how out of favor Democrats are.

I know plenty of police and former police who fully support democrats. Just because the ones who like picking off people of color and couldn't make being in the military so they cospaly tough guy on our streets, or more likely in rural areas, doesn't make them a monolith in terms of a voting block.

Your bias is showing and your anecdotal information doesn't make it true.

Happy for your kids but they are Gen Z, which surely has their own issues, but OP is talking about Gen Alpha, who face more uncertainty at this point.

The oldest in that cohort would be around 15. I think a majority will be okay if they weren't part of the Covid lockdowns. The children of liberal parents were held back from normal life longer than the children of conservatives so there may be a discernable difference between the mental health of those particular groups of children.

And there it is….the same people saying your kids just need to have grit yapping about Covid shutdowns. I work in healthcare in a hospital setting and my liberal ass wasn’t the one screaming about my kids wearing masks and going online as people died at work. I think the parents who lost their minds and are still harping about it, did not/do not in fact, raise resilient kids.

Can any of the MAGA actually address how Trump is making it all better vs just complaining about the Dems? Can you talk about his policies? How is Doge making the government better? Ignoring the courts? Gutting government programs? Defunding research? Can you formulate a coherent argument for why the future looks better under Trump for our youth **without** mentioning Biden or the Democrats?

Obama and Biden deported more than Trump did in his first term or currently, but they did it legally and in accordance with international law, which Trump is not doing. The democrats have championed healthcare, worker rights worker safety, education etc and moreso than the GOP has. The GOP dismantles and defunds these things. The GOP didn't even support funding bills for state and local law enforcement while Biden was president. Who voted to actually defund the police? It wasn't the democrats.

Illegals are afraid of Trump now. The best offense is a good defense.

The lower class workers of America have flocked from the Democrats to Trump.

The police want nothing to do with Democrats. Trump just signed an EO that could raise police pay. It will provide free legal assistance if someone goes after them. The EO will increase their training and get them new equipment.

We live in a what have you done for me lately world and the Democrats are lacking.

Lol. Justifying selfish behavior I see.

I think it’s selfish to bring kids INTO this sort of environment. If you disagree…wow.

You’re kidding, right? We act like the sky is falling but people have been having children since the beginning of time in far worse conditions. I think we’ve become way too soft as a society because we haven’t had to live through hard times.

MAGA-"everyone is way too soft-let's show them all of our "alpha" ways and toughen everyone one up with big doses of hatred and bullying-instead of making progress and increasing humanity and kindness. LEt's say screw the environment and too bad for future generations"-thats what you MAGAs sound like every day. MAGA is a sad and ignorant group.

Climate change is getting worse and half the country still acts like it's not real. I don't want my kids growing up thinking this is normal. I want them to believe in a country that actually cares about people, not just profits. But right now, it’s hard to feel hopeful. And that's just the surface. I'm not even going to start talking about the economy they'll inherit.

It will get better. We need to stop the overwhelming immigration of cheap workers to hepp the middle class

Let's hope you did not pass this weakness onto your children. They need perseverance and the ability to pivot in the face of change and handle adversity. They will learn to adapt but sounds like you are the one to be pitied

That is great we all should have hope but we need to come together and say no to facism and dictatorship. We need to stop pretending this is like a 9/11 it's not. We were a united front then facing outside threats. The threat is coming from within this time. Stop sitting here passively.

The only reason there was a united front after 9/11 was because there was no social media. If the same exact thing happened today the conspiracy theorists would be out in full force. In 2001 they were still talking to themselves in their mom's basement.

Yes MAGA is still living in their moms basement.

I pity MAGA-it would be awful to be so ignorant and void of empathy and intelligence. This is why they are part of a cult because misery loves hateful company.

Income redistribution schemes? You mean like dismantling the government so rich people can get richer? You know no one with half a brain cell buys into your drivel anymore?

We do spend more than we have in the past, we spend more than our peers on schooling, we spend more than our peers on healthcare. It's fair to ask why outcomes aren't better.

I disagree, there's something here that drives people to risk it all to come here.

If you're traveled the third world, you know exactly why.
