Politics aside, do you think Melania loves Donald?

Melania surely doesn’t “love” Donald in any traditional sense of the word. George and Laura Bush are the only couple who have recently inhabited the White House that I think if we knew them personally we’d describe as “in love.” I don’t share their politics but they have a marriage I can relate to.

Disagree. Bill is a narcissist and was drawn to Hillary because she reflects him and he basically views the positive attention she gets as if it’s his own.

Hillary loves Bill because it feels obvious that her professional life would have gone better if she’d left him after the Lewinsky stuff came out. By staying she got tarred with the brush of all the previous attempts to silence women who’d accused him, among other things. Bill has strayed enough that he can’t possibly feel the same way about her.

Barack himself is a pretty awkward dude and Michelle is honestly terrific. I’m sure she has made his life easier in a million different ways and he’s in awe of her. Her own affection for him may be more muted.
