Agency will technically be down 35% by the ends of this (full staff is 6900 positions), with up to 40% retirement eligible by 2027. Unless they are planing to not have any support/admin staff, I am not sure where else they can cut.

Why would they need admin staff. They can contract out for specific functions, and automation, ai agents can fill it in, and they can have regular staff do their own paperwork. It’s not like the 40 hour work week is sticking around, expect private office hours of 8-6 min

I can think of one division that can very easily be contracted out. Individual units that they service can do the work. Much $ can be saved this way. It’s just not a needed unit. And can be cut. The entire operation. Administrative unit.

Agree but I heard the Admin Unit and DIT are barely getting hit.

Awful. Truly crazy

Yes. 19% cut, mostly non-attorneys.

Dang, that is devastating. We already have low support attorney staff as is...

Do you know if drp will be thru 9/30 or end of the year?

No idea but rumor is VSIP is 6 months. I think most/all will get DRP offer but VERA/VSIP offers will be targeted.

Interesting that vsip is 6months paid out at once. Thats certainly more generous than whats at other agencies. I am also assuming some admin leave (perhaps 60 days) for those who opt into vsip.

A Chief Admin needs to go. Horrific and overpaid.

Put down the sock puppet, please. We get it. You have a personal vendetta against some manager in Admin. Take your meds, please, and stop inarticulately spamming this discussion.

I thought FDIC was going to see how many leave with VERA etc before RIF? Are people or teams actually being cut now?

19% cut includes those already gone in the first round of firings and fork 1.0, so the actual impact of the latest will be much smaller than the headlines suggest.

The buyouts, while generous on their face (and is very humane for those targeted), will be extremely limited and almost no one will be approved for fork 2.0. Many divisions are telling their employees not to even bother apply.

Consider the situation, it appears that FDIC leadership was able to overcome the now languishing DOGE and 47 and keep most of its employees. A win for sure.

Really? Support and admin are being notified of job losses and it doesn’t sound insubstantial at all.

I wonder if it’s a heads up that RIFs will not be accompanied by severance….

VSIP is 75% of annual base + locality if you are CG-10 or greater. 100% if CG-9 or lower.

And you can combine the VSIP with VERA.

That’s an incredible package.

There will be losses for sure, but buyout will go to more folks than intended to control the final number (even possible for a ratio of 2/10) and many opt-ins will be denied. Folks at FDIC are too important to bend to DOGE.

If this is true, wow that is very nice. Any admin leave associated with this?
