Abortion is the same thing. If you don't want one or your religion doesn't support it, great then don't have one. But why do you keep bringing it up to interfere with people who believe differently than you.

These are not late night kitchen table issues. As why the president can focus on those issues.

The governor of Wisconsin is backing a bill to refer to mothers as “inseminated persons.”

Governor Tim Walz signed a bill and insisted tampon-dispensing machines be installed in boys bathrooms in public schools.

Now THAT is “constantly bringing up trans issues.” I mean, what did Tim expect people to do? Ignore the machines? Come on!

Bingo! Someone on another thread said MAGA never end friendships (only Dems do). It dawned on me that MAGA cannot stop talking politics, even when asked not to, so people are forced to break up with them. This has been my experience and has checked out with other friends. They’re like terriers who won’t stop biting your leg.

Percentage of teens Nationally who identify as transgender: 3%
Of the 3% who play sports: 40%
Percentage of transgender teens who play a sports: 1.2%
There are 42.9 million teenagers in the U.S.

Number of athletes in the NCAA: ~500,000
Number of transgender athletes in the NCAA: fewer than 10

This is not a problem that needs addressing. It affects very few women!

Let’s say that each sport or race has 10 competitors. For each trans woman who would not be permitted to compete against the women, there would be an order of magnitude more women affected if they were robbed of their potential victory. So if you claim that it doesn’t affect very many women so we shouldn’t worry about it, we should actually just refuse to let anyone born male to participate against women and then by definition it would affect far fewer people so you must really not care about it. So let’s just have that rule that you need to be born female to compete in female sports and we’ll all be okay with it.

Mills is fully aware that an executive order can't override a state law. You know what can? A federal law. So if keeping trans athletes out of women's sports is truly a priority for the American people, Congress will pass a bill and Trump will sign it into law. Until then all Trump can do is make empty threats like we saw today.

THERE IS A LAW!!! Title IX.

There’s 1

Then it will be no biggie to have that person play on the boys/men’s team. Since a small number is a-okay for women to endure, the males can do the same.

That’s not true. All you people have is lies.

Gorsuch said “trans discrimination is sex discrimination” in a Title VII case.

Exactly. Trump is terrible. He needs to be removed from office.

One is too many. It is unfair, unsafe, and a slap in the face to women. And, a violation of Title IX.
It is interesting that she is choosing this as a hill to die on. It is NOT a popular stance.

This from Feb. 19:
A transgender-identifying male, competing under the name “Katie,” from Cumberland’s Greely High School, came out on top in the girls’ pole vault competition on Monday during the Maine Indoor Track Meet at Bates College.

The student is a biological male who previously competed in boys’ pole-vaulting as a mid-level athlete. Since identifying as a girl, “Katie” has been allowed to compete against female students.

At Monday’s meet, “Katie” jumped 11 feet, a mediocre score for boys, but within just one inch of Maine’s girls’ pole-vault champion, who set an 11-foot, one-inch record last year at the National Pole Vault Summit.

He jumped a full eight inches higher than the second-place winner among the girls.

The student’s participation in the event came in opposition to an executive order issued by President Donald Trump earlier this month threatening to pull federal funds from schools that allow males to compete in women’s sports.

+1. I agree with conservatives on the transgender issue but still can’t believe Trump threatened a governor like he did.
Just horrible!

It already exists. Title IX and Maine is in violation

The point of the executive order isn’t to override Maine law; it is to take federal funds away from states who are in violation of the federal law, title IX.
This is how the feds have always operated. Think back to the push for 55mph speed limits and federal highway funds. Don’t have to like it but their money, their rules.
