It will stop snowing by 2 am, plenty of time to clear the roads. We are getting less than 3 inches. No worries...kids can walk in 3 inches of snow. I predict a delay at most.

A delay seems reasonable to me ... which is why I think they will close schools. Today notwithstanding, they are normally extremely conservative.

I think we'll get an email at 7 p.m. tonight that there is a day and they will reconsider in the morning, and then in the morning we'll get an email that schools are closed.

Wrong. Us meteorologists had the right info and made the right call (CWG at WaPo is proof of that) and obviously it appears MCPS is in contact with reputable meteorologists.

Just because YOU don't have access to precise information doesn't mean it isn't available to experts and school systems willing to contact them! Also, I, and perhaps others, have been posting on DCUM since yesterday about warm ground temps, dry air, etc, which would delay snow accumulation considerably. So you can't even follow a thread you're posting on.

Try to keep up with accurate information instead of blaming others for your lack of research.

The same meteorologists who recommended to close everything on Saturday and had DCUM parents complaining?

Can you recall a time it went the other way - the meteorologists failed to call for snow and it happened or got the timing wrong by half a day or more?

It’s still unclear whether it’s rain or snow on Wednesday afternoon, so yes closed.

This seems like a bust and they should just call a delay tonight.

It just started to snow and is supposed to snow for the next 8 hours, but you are ready to call it a bust?

I guess we all have been mentally ill then at some point, if being anxious is classified as mental illness. Expectant mothers are mentally ill.

PP here. Actually I am indifferent. I don't work outside of the home and my kid is in high school, so no disruption for me.

Veterans Day 1987. They called for a dusting and was over a foot of snow.

Okay let's move onto DCUM's next favorite topic: when are we making this day up?

They will ask for a waiver at this point.

You all should check your weather app for next Thursday. My iPhone weather app is showing 15” for Thursday…up from 11” earlier today.

June 17. As long as they've already bled over into the following week, adding Tuesday seems like a no-brainer.
