Why are many conservatives fixated on vaccine mandates?

You can choose not to work for Harris.

You can choose not to live in a state whose abortion policies you don't like.

I’m good and will be till the day I die. But I’m here for women needing D+Cs after a miscarriage, care that has been provided to such women for decades. Now, in some states, they are dying in parking lots.

I don't care if you get one or not.....just like you shouldn't care what I do to my body

The Govt tried, but the Supreme Court stopped them in case anyone is purposely forgetting how things went down. They did manage to fire a bunch of military, and are still hurting for recruits as a result.

Cry harder. No one wants their recruit in an infectious disease stew. You want to be in the military, get a vaccine to protect the community or go do something else.

From "There was no mandate" to "cry harder" in a single page. Gosh, I can't imagine why people don't trust you people with power to mandate things.

Why didn’t you oppose the vaccine mandates for public school children before COVID started?

Uh, I did. Vaccination is basically an entirely fraudulent industry. Industry being the key word.

People give credit to vaccination that rightly belong to nutrition and sanitation.

Another dimwit here. My dad's cousin contracted polio and was in a wheelchair for the remainder of his life - grew up eating farm to table in a lovely country home, but nutrition and sanitation do NOTHING for polio.

Polio is entirely sanitation driven, maybe you missed some posts while typing. Chances are pretty good that the "farm to table" process had some dudes taking a dump on the produce and not washing it afterwards. Maybe the vaccine would have helped, but personally, I'll take my lettuce without the feces.

LOL, right - my relatives were dumping on their veggies then eating dinner. Again, are you really that dumb? What does your family eat? Cheerios and Boar’s Head?

But this isn’t political for you at all. You are just deciding each thing on the merits, right?

I’m the PP and no I didn’t consider myself political at all before this. I still don’t like everything on the conservative side (I do support abortions until viability outside the womb) but I really hate someone telling me I need to inject something into my body and my kids’ bodies after they say that I won’t need to and we have proof that it doesn’t stop you getting the virus and it doesn’t stop you passing it on. It’s honestly insane and yes, quite obviously completely political.

I don’t believe you. Regardless, there was no nationwide vaccine mandate.

There were mandates for those of us who work for companies that do government projects. Everyone in our companies were required to get it, even if we weren’t working on those projects ourselves.

And you had the right to get a different job. If you chose to work for a company that had federal contracts, then they had to risk losing the work, or serving the terms of the contract. That isn't a mandate. No one tied you down and forced a needle in you.

If the goverment puts in the contract that Covid vaccines were required, that’s a mandate

A mandate for the people working for that contractor, that is not a mandate for everyone in the country.

Someone can find a different job, because personal responsibility, right?

I mean why would someone with that attitude want to suck on the teat of the government anyhow?

Had the administration gotten its way, over 100 million people, or roughly 2/3rds of the workforce would have been subject to the vaccine mandate.

and think of how many more people would not have died or been hospitalized as a result!

That would have saved thousands of lives.

DP No. It wouldn't have made any difference.

Please tell us about the evil fake vaccines. How did you discover they were fake? Who is heading the conspiracy? Is it Soros? It’s weird that none of you will elaborate.

Covid vaccines did not prevent people from dying from covid, contrary to the initial marketing.

It absolutely did. Where do you come up with this nonsense? The vaccine made the impact of the virus on the human body much less than unvaccinated. The numbers bare that out.

Nowhere did anyone claim that vaccinated folks would not die from COVID.

You all are just sad and I pray for your kids.

No, this is not the question. The question is: why would anyone support employment discrimination and restrictions on access to education? It has not been proven that Covid vaccines build herd immunity (unlike other vaccines). It has not been proven it prevents or even lessens the illness. It has some potential long term side effects.
Why would anyone be so supportive of it that they are ready to prevent those who don’t take it from getting education and from working?

Why would the government only include this in one or two contracts?

It didn't, it was a blanket requirement, particularly for those who provide "butts in the seats" contracting and military contracting.

Biden administration tried to require this for all workers, or at least all workers working for companies above a certain size. They had to settle for government contractors because their other rule was thrown out by the Supreme Court.

If it was false, remdesivir would not be needed.

OP. The answer to your question is that MAGA doesn’t read or think. They also seem to be very susceptible to misinformation. Some of the conclusions on this thread are eye-opening in terms of the paranoia and ignorance that exists.

I’m not sure what happened to our public education system.

For some people, it prevents. For other people, it lessons. This isn't hard.

Even for people it lessons, they still get sick, hence remdesivir and other agents.

The GOP gutted it, so they would have a ready made surplus of voters who lack critical reasoning skills. It has clearly paid off for the party and their leaders.
