Why do married men fall for younger women?

The sad truth is they are unhappy with their current situation and looking for an escape. This man did not just randomly fall in love with this younger woman, he found some type of escape/joy in her. It is sad but oftentimes these marriages have been unhappy for years leading up to these sorts of splits.

I think this, too. Usually home life is very stressful (even if there is enough money), and the marriage isn’t good. They’re often just together for the kids, money, convenience, social reasons etc.

I think this, too. Usually home life is very stressful (even if there is enough money), and the marriage isn’t good. They’re often just together for the kids, money, convenience, social reasons etc.

Agree, and why would a guy want to fall for an older woman if a younger one is available? Yes, it can happen.

My son just graduated HS in June and we must have gone to two dozen grad parties. Without question, every single one of the dads looked objectively better than the moms. Same with college drop off . The moms at drop off looked haggard af from carrying bags up a flight of steps! I'm 50, btw.

You should be right, but I'm living proof that in Washington, DC on the dating apps in 2024, it is very easy for a mid-40s man with a good job (not a millionaire) to regularity date ands sleep with 22-27yo women.

This is PP. I actually do think it's my Hinge photos (tall, full head of hair, lift weights and run on the weekends) and messaging banter that is most effective, but obviously you can't be a bum.

My job has lots of travel but otherwise WFH. Sounds cooler than it really is and I can tell stories about mixing with entertainment celebs. In the last five years I've earned $290K one year followed by $150K the next, and split the difference in the others.

That is nowhere close to enough to be a sugar daddy or for someone to be with me for the money. In the last five years I have dated lawyers, Cap Hill, Fed Agencies, etc. but also college students. (This followed a painful breakup with a woman my own age. I had dated younger before and after the breakup decided that's what I want to do for as long as I can).

I believe you because I am bisexual and there are plenty of women in their twenties who are looking for something casual or short-term and I also have a crazy bipolar 21-year-old cousin who does the same thing doesn't mean that these women are disease-free or attractive.

+1. Men who think it’s because they “age like wine” are delusional. A 20 year old is not going to marry an average middle class man, and especially not after he loses half of everything in a divorce and has to move into an apartment with a mattress on the floor.

There is a very small percentage of men who attract a small percentage of women because they offer financial security to women who don’t want to work and view their own success depends on which man they can land rather than what they themselves can accomplish.

And that’s fine. It works for them (sometimes….they also have a very high divorce rate). But the average 50 year old man will not be able to get a 25 year old to marry him.

When it turns out older women CAN sleep with younger partners.

So then men move the goal posts to (as PP stated): "younger men only sleep with older women because it's "banging a MILF" but they wouldn't want to be in a LTR/marry her".

When the reality is younger women don't want to be in LTRs/marry older men either *unless there is money, power, and security involved*

Older men are not inherently more desirable as marriage material or better-looking to younger women. Younger women pursue older men because they want the material benefits. The average middle aged man is not going to be able to maintain a LTR with a younger woman. Hook up with a few? Sure. Women AND men in their 20s are curious.

And the same happens with older women who have money. I know a woman in her late 40s who is a multi-millionaire and engaged to a 22 year old man. He actively targeted her (figured out what events she was speaking at) and won her over. Everybody knows it's about the money. They don't care.

Some of the men here are such liars lol. I am 45 years old and while I still have a good sex drive there is no way on earth I can keep up with a horny 20 something woman. Heck even a woman my age I don't think I can keep up with her. Some of us men are simply in denial at the fact that women are actually hornier than us.
