| He has kids. Do they attend MCPS? He must want better for his kids, so how does he plan to improve curriculum? |
|
Taylor needs to make each Central office staff, save janitors, get inside a classroom in ES, MS and HS and TEACH for a day. Report back here, CO staff.
And BOE members should each sit in on a class at each level. |
That's a brilliant idea, but the BOE members should also do this and not just sit in on classes. They show a clear lack of understanding of the basics, which is concerning when you listen to their questions. Taylor needs to do it too. |
Its unclear if he moved to MoCo yet. Its in his contract he has to move. |

What happened to this? Taylor?:

scandal and departure of a former Super happened right around that 2.5years later time: July 2021 - Jan 2024. |
I don’t believe he has young kids. |
Are you asking why Taylor didn't go back in time and implement a plan from three years before he was hired? Honestly, folks, let's give the guy a chance. We all want the same thing (except the trolls that are just here to undermine faith in public education). It's been fewer than six months and he's already given clearer answers to many questions than McKnight gave in three years on the job. We need *someone* in the superintendent role, and it would be great if MCPS parents stopped living up to their reputation as making it not worth the job. |
He has teens, I think. |
He's been in the role three months. Nothing has changed. This are really bad this year. |
That's a ridiculous read on why the poster was sharing this. The reality is there is an existing strategic plan. Given the failures and disruptions that have happened within MCPS, which parts of the existing strategic plan is he moving forward and which parts is he not? That is a very reasonable ask to have of a superintendent who knew damn well he was stepping into a leadership position for a system that is very much in crisis and distress. |
Right. And instead of admitting that, SO many people are apologists and saying he just got here. As if he didn't know that this system was in crisis and THIRSTING for change immediately. Instead, he has asked for a six-month grace period and the BOE is giving it to him. Pathetic. |
And can they update the Strategic Plan site with the 2024 actuals and the School Profiles with the 2023/2024 data. |
As already shared above, Taylor addresses the strategic plan here: https://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/superintendent/entry-plan/#strategicplan |
