Janeese Lewis George is keeping our kids safe from TURF

Anonymous
Gore did support it. I guess you didn't see her debate nor did you bother to read her ANC resolution - that she is the Chair BTW! Do your research. Gore was put off that Janeese spent her capital on this while you have Whittier under water, literally, and Coolidge kids and teachers begging for repairs and a safer school. I guess they dont deserve emergency legislation.

Honestly I think JLG is a shoo in. Her constituent services team is top notch and she seems quite popular in the lower part of the ward where I live.
Janeese’s constituent services team is a flop. But I think you are right that she will win. Too many want to signal their virtue by supporting the wokest candidate.

Regardless, I will not be voting for her.

She has NEVER been to my part of Ward 4. I read her website and laughed. What a joke. All of my neighbors hate her. As a matter of fact, I don't personally know anyone who likes her.

And that's why this thread is so stupid and Gore messed up by not vocally supporting it.

Look at the brand new Hearst soccer field which has had sod put down twice yet is now a completely unplayable mess. For high use fields it has to be turf.

I agree that high use fields need turf. At Hearst didn’t Stoddert want grass and paid for it, but parks didn’t maintain it properly?

Proudly voted for Lisa Gore yesterday. According to swarmy dcum posters, I’m part of a nonexistent constituency. Well, at the very least, my vote exists 🤷‍♂️ one of approximately 200 thus far

Let the blame game begin.

Congrats on the 25 percent of the vote!

Really strange how the out of touch trolls here weren't actually representative of how people in ward 4 feel about JLG.

Agree, but even in a local election folks are living in a bubble.

DCUM hysterics are the worst representation of American society.

Who didn't see this coming? Lisa never had a chance. Not only do Ward 4 voters like Janeese, Lisa had to split the opposition vote with Paul.

A tale as old as time in DC home rule.

66% of the vote for Janeese? That's an asskicking.

I work in the industry. My kids don't play on turf.
The infill is radial tire crumbs. There is nothing healthy about turf.

Vote splitting wasn't the issue. Gore and Johnson combined got about 1/3 compared to 2/3 for Lewis George. It's pretty clear.

DC parks and rec does not have the budget or capability to maintain grass sports fields.
