| Not voting for JLG (though sadly I think she will be re-elected), but turf fields are a bad idea and cause a lot of sports injuries. Stopped clock and all that. |
I’m wondering if anyone east of the park in Ward 4 got this flyer. Bc it’s a slap in the face if they did. |
We did not, but as a Ward 4 resident whose preschooler was shot at on a city bus on the way home from school, this seems . . . about right? for Janeese's understanding of "focusing on safety." |
We did not but a cop was shot in our neighborhood so I think it was a good choice not to tout stopping a turf field at Lafayette. Also my child’s school had a pipe burst that DGS seemed to ignore until parents made a huge deal of it. So yeah don’t want to hear about turf fields while my kid’s school is a physical hazard. |
| I am a ward 4 voter and I don’t feel strongly about JLG either way. I do wonder how people so vehemently support her when there are some really clear policy issues she’s promoted that have been negative for ward 4 and the city. |
| It's weird how Jeff Steele, the proprietor of this Web site, keeps deleting comments critical of JLG. If he's going to censor this thread according to his political opinions, he should have the decency to do it transparently. He lives in Ward 4 so he has a dog in this fight. |
I am all for transparency. I have voted for Janeese Lewis George as has every member of my family. What I have removed are bad faith posts that are based on falsehoods. I could just have easily removed this entire thread but I have nothing against legitimate criticism. But posters who believe the ability to post anonymously also means they have the freedom to spew falsehoods should adjust their expectations. |
She’s exactly the kind of lunatic politician the residents of DC deserve. She’s PERFECT for them. |
Are your kids digging out and eating spoonfuls of tire crumble from the turf? Because that might be a problem for them. I think you’re right to worry.
|
It’s like an in-kind political contribution, isn’t it? Be a real shame if someone made the FEC aware that the proprietor of a popular website was making such undeclared in-kind contributions to certain candidates. That sorta thing might result in a substantial fine. Maybe jail time. |
Yeah, you run with that genius. I'd love to see how far that would get you. The first big problem you would face is that unlike on DCUM, you would have to reveal your identity to the FEC. |
lol ing at this, as Jeff awesome deleted my post from WaPo with direct quotes supporting JLG. I don't think this is biased blocking but I'd love to see the fight |
Your post was deleted because you quoted one of the nonsense posts that I deleted. |
Which parts are falsehoods? |
