That's her flyer. She is keeping kids SAFE! By halting installation of TURF at Lafayette Elementary.
Turf. The city counsel is a clown show. |
| Good for her. Sounds like the first good decision a councilmember has made in years. |
| Safe from turf . . . and nothing else. |
TURF!!!! There are shootings in the neighborhood and she says she's protecing kids from turf. I hate this city. |
|
I hate turf in schools. Doesn't that tire crumble have lead? Lead exposure has been shown to increase criminal behavior.
You all are really grasping at straws to criticize her. Who actually likes turf other than tire disposal companies?? |
| Hopefully we are in the final days of JLG’s nutty term in office. Go Lisa! |
| I don’t know anything about these people or neighborhood but this is not a trivial issue. As long as communities tolerate known carcinogenic environments for children, there will be more and more social rot. This act could literally prevent cancer in a child. Better than most political bs that goes nowhere |
| What about following the science? |
Honestly I think JLG is a shoo in. Her constituent services team is top notch and she seems quite popular in the lower part of the ward where I live. |
Janeese’s constituent services team is a flop. But I think you are right that she will win. Too many want to signal their virtue by supporting the wokest candidate. Regardless, I will not be voting for her. |
She has a constituency that is loyal to her. Lisa has not made any inroads with them. The council seat belongs to Janeese as long as she wants it. |
Oh, did you have problems with her constituent services? They’ve been responsive to me each time Ive contacted them and one time the councilmember herself showed up! |
|
No one in our entire government except maybe Charles Allen bears more responsibility for the crime problem than JLG.
She opposed every single thing Bowser wanted to do about crime — until, that is, Lisa Gore got in the race and JLG realized her positions were enormously unpopular with her constituents. |
I was robbed at gunpoint on Georgia Ave while waiting for the bus. Her office wouldn’t return my calls. She’s terrible. |
Is this parody? First, there is zero evidence that turf presents a health risk to kids. Second, even if it did there is a laundry list of much more significant health risks to kids that JLG is either ignoring (gun crime, traffic violence) or actively promoting (access to weed near schools). In fact, if health risks to kids in parks were a driving concern then the first thing that JLG should ban is swimming pools. Because people keep either drowning or nearly drowning all the time. |
