Most people of all religions or no religions do not know that Christianity is not a white, European religion.

Oh come on, this is super outdated info. It’s not the 1950s.

Most Americans are quite ignorant of everything not right there in their noses.

Zero capability, genetic perhaps, to understand world history or abstract thinking.

Ok, you’re gonna have to prove your superior intelligence by explaining the genetic component among a nation of diverse immigrants, lol

Also, “under” their noses not “in,” lol again

That bolded comment was clearly sarcastic; forgot that some Americans lack any sense of humor -- genetic perhaps?

Oh, and I'm very impressed how you couldn't even invent your own language -- -- genetic perhaps?

Trolly troll troll. Apparently trolling is a non-American genetic trait.

Zoroastrians are Indian/pakistani or Persian. how is this DCUM- not Missouri rural mom.

it took around 400 years after the Islamic conquest of Persia until the majority of Iranians converted. There are definitely Zoroastrian Arabs. They are much rarer than Arab Christians

Earlier on in this thread I saw a reference to Zoroastrian Arabs and did some looking up. While there definitely Zoroastrian Arabs at the time of the Islamic conquests (Islam explicitly considers Zoroastrians people of the book) and a few centuries beyond, I couldn't find any references to any existing Arab Zoroastrian communities.

If you know of any links, please share!

I wouldn’t expect there to be many Arab Zoroastrians out there since the religion was created in Iran. The Indian/pakistanis who are Zoroastrian are descendants of the Persians who left Iran after the arabs invaded them and brought Islam to their country.

People are dumb and it’s easy to be islamophobic

It's because there has been a strong tendency over the decades in the U.S. to "other" Arabs because they are Muslim.

Learning that many Arabs (the majority in the U.S.) are in fact not just Christian, but the direct descendants of the earliest Christians, induces cognitive dissonance.

I joke with my Christian Arab DH that while my ancestors in Europe were worshiping stones and trees, his in the Levant were debating the finer points of the trinity.

Normal, nice people are not surprised.

Woke-minded folks, way overrepresented in DC, are because you break their intersectional bs ideology. If you an Arab then you're a victim, because your skin is also dark and because you must be a poor Muslim. If you say you're Christian, or your skin is not dark enough, you break their thinking therefore you cannot exist.

Except that'd be largely false of course.

Don’t be too quick to speak. Lots of people worship rocks, trees, etc, and why I do not know. You would think that with free public education and free libraries and the internet, our society would be more educated and advanced. We are the most advanced our civilization and society have ever been, with amazing technology and knowledge about science, and there are people who worship trees and rocks. Did they not pay attention during science classes? So backward.

Don't stop there. They worship new random ideologies apparently born from some rocks and some trees, clearly not deep thought and evidence. And they workship some supposed Native American hs. Or the latest book by the most popular TV personality, or the most hateful celebrity with just the right narrative.

They worship themselves, too. It’s disturbing because everyone is exactly the same. We are all human.

Most Americans attend public schools, and they get zero education about world religions outside of a few holidays that are celebrated. Some schools may have a single unit in social studies about non-US history and maybe a week spent on religions. Some kids will take a broader course in high school, like AP World. Many, many live in social groups that are not diverse and never get a chance to travel unless by car, and then its usually to a beach or lake or to visit family.

My school did mention Paganism and Hedonism practiced in other countries. I hardly call anything outside of mainstream Judaism and mainstream Christian religions as actual religion.

Whoa! And what about Islam and Hinduism, which are very major global religions?
