He can claim he didn’t mean to draw comparisons, but he still picked that specific cause of death. Just weird and frankly a little gross.

I wonder if Mr Registered Democrat would at least support keeping guns out of the hands of the deeply mentally ill and domestic abusers.

Yes, I ABSOLUTELY would suggest going REALLY hard after anyone who tries to buy a firearm in violation of any of the stipulations on the ATF form 4473. That form includes straw purchases, anyone adjudicated mentally defective, drug users, and misdemeanor (or greater) domestic violence. And for that matter, expand the 4473 list to include a lot more exclusions for theft, burglary, DUI, etc. Then give hard prison time to anyone in violation.

Well, they could of made a very public example with Hunter Biden, but that didn't happen, now did it?

That would be quite a joke given the milions of Americans who lied on the 4473s claiming they never did drugs. Going after Hunter now while ignoring all the others would just make it look like nothing more than partisan BS.

We do, but then they basically end up in prison. There are some federal prisons suitable for the mentally ill, but not a lot. Since Ronnie closed all the institutions.

They could do it with either of Trump’s recent gun felonies, too.

Excellent. Then let's just drop the 4473 and background check altogether.

We can trust people. Just like trusting people to vote without showing ID.

We can restrict ammunition.

This is often the one that shuts the conversation down and stops any chances of passing a law, because the restriction is sometimes a tax or a limitation on purchase quantity. I read of a young lady trying to qualify for the Olympics who shot a thousand shots per day, every day of the week. Less serious competitors still shoot a lot. The law would need to respect that while denying purchases to the gang bangers.

Every youth sport out there has been monetized to the hilt. Sorry but youth sports are now for affluent kids....soccer, shooting, tennis, baseball, etc. There are not many left that don't require a significant investment. Just add shooting to the list.

If going after the ammunition helps then so be it.
