Shockingly graphic photo essay on the destruction caused by AR-15's in today's WP

I'm with the person not in the right mental space today for this

that said, I fully support it

There is zero reason for this particular gun. NONE.

Print these photos and mail them to all Republicans in Congress. These photos should be posted in front of the NRA

I have 2 little girls. I'm a supporter of 2A (as it was written, NOT as it has been exploited by the NRA), and I can't imagine how any parent can look at these photos, imagine the abject terror of those children huddled together in their last seconds of life, and yet turn around and argue in support of the right to own a gun that literally mows people down.
And spare me the "good guy with a gun" argument. Uvalde proved that is a farce.

Well then stop voting Republican people. They are OWNED by the NRA, and dependent on gun nuts for their survival.

Kudos to the Post for doing this with as much grace as possible.

TBH, one of the best places to post these photos is in front of the WH so all the red state tourists can see them. Put 'em on 2' x 3' boards and let those tourists gawk slack-jawed at the Uvalde photos.

These people won't see these photos on Fox, DailyWire, et al.

They show dead fetuses in their “right to life” protests ,but won’t own up to these dead kids.

What the hell is wrong with this country????

If anti-abortion activists are allowed to display blown-up photos of purportedly aborted fetuses, then I think it is reasonable to post the AR-15 carnage photos in public spaces like in front of the WH. And not just photos of the aftermath, but Emmett Till type photos if at all possible. (As a parent, I get that no parent of a massacred child would allow it, but I almost think that's what it would take to change things).

I don’t agree with just posting them in public places because trauma survivors and young children shouldn’t be exposed to graphic photos, but damn, any voter who is not already traumatized shouldn’t be allowed to look away. The politicians who have the power to regulate gun ownership in America should absolutely have to see and have intimate knowledge of the carnage inflicted by high capacity weapons.

What about the voters who “hire” them?

Legislators are all literally graded by the NRA.

It is not hard to separate the good guys from the bad guys.

This is horrific, but what will it take to open congress’ eyes??? The vast majority of voters want stricter gun laws.

Vast majority is a bit of an overstatement at the national level - https://news.gallup.com/poll/1645/guns.aspx but probably accurate in DCUM land.

I'm the PP to whom you responded. I used to vote split ticket, but I stopped doing that in 2012. Straight Dem votes all the way down the ballot. Between this and abortion, the GOP will never get my vote again.

They didn’t go far enough. Publish pictures of the bodies ravaged by these monstrosities.

In your own link:
90+ % of all respondents favor universal background checks.
86% favor red flag laws
77% favor 30 day waiting periods
76% support raising the legal purchasing age

How is that not a vast majority??????

Article is very well done.

One of the things on my mind is the comment of a Uvalde father who showed the graphic photos of his torn child to Senator Ted Cruz. Who had no reaction beyond a platitude.
Subsequently the father regrets showing the picture. Gut wrenching.

Ted Cruz is ice cold. Only experiencing the grief and horror themselves may change their minds. These politicians all need to be voted out. It was enough 11 years ago. Enough!

Absolutely.

Lets hope that Justice A-hole and T-head see the photos, though I doubt that they have the self awareness to understand that their distorted views are preventing sensible gun restrictions.

They didn't go far enough. They need to show the actual bodies and what happens to kids and people who are shot.

The photos of Emmett Till left decades long impact. The photos of all of the Mai Lai Massacre left a long lasting impact. Show the public what keeps happening in our schools.

The photo where the shooter wrote "LOL" on the whiteboard in a child's blood is so disturbing though.
