I don’t care what consenting adults do in their bedroom, if they film it, if they stream it for money, if they partner swap, whatever. But if you run for public office you’re agreeing to be on a public platform and have your life be scrutinized. It’s part of the job. So if she felt so strongly about women’s health and other issues, did she ever just think maybe those videos might jeopardize my candidacy, cost me votes, hurt my chances and hurt my party?!

I don’t GAF that she’s done some weird stuff if she was my NP, but as an elected official she’s subject to bribes, blackmail, etc and this kind of stuff wouldn’t pass any security clearance (I’ve been a reference for people, I know what they ask and want to find out) and just puts her at risk. At the very least get ahead of it and say “yeah, I’m in a happy marriage and we have a sex life. That’s all” instead of playing some victim here.

Youngkin wants a 15 week ban, this is longer than even Europe, odd that we are so abortion happy in the US

In most European countries, abortion is generally permitted within a term limit below fetal viability (e.g. 12 weeks in Germany and Italy, or 14 weeks in France and Spain).

Go live in Europe if you want their abortion laws.

15w is not acceptable for many reasons.

Those European countries still allow full access to abortion up to birth for health of the mother, fetal abnormalities, rape, incest, or even the mental health of the mother.

So yeah, it's not the same as Texas or Ohio.

The majority of Americans disagree with you, and that's why you see voters in states like KS and MI and WI ratifying keeping abortion legal in the state Constitution.

Even the R party is now trying to rebrand itself as "Pro-woman" and 'pro-baby" because their "pro-life" image isn't cutting it.

I don't judge what she did at all, and I don't for one second think it was for money. Also, considering that she labels her account Hotwifeexperience, she is not forcing her husband to do anything. It seems pretty obvious that this is them spicing up their sex life. You also don't really know if what she says about other guys is true or part of a fantasy.

I didn't actually vote for her in the primary, but not because I disliked her. I felt pretty evenly between the two candidates.

BUT I am annoyed that she ran for office knowing she'd done this stuff. Because if something CAN come out in politics, it will. The other candidate was also fine. While it certainly wouldn't change my vote, it might change some people's, and we can't afford to lose these races in Virginia.

I hope people in my area are cooler than I think?

yea, she was dumb. Even my kids know that what they put out there in cyberspace can come back to bite them on the butt, pardon the pun.

Trump knew this, too, which is why he paid off the porn star.

Eh hard to tell. If they are fake, they are really good ones.

They certainly were not doing this because they needed the money.

They are fake but good ones

No way those are fake.

The deadline for a candidate to withdraw was on Friday.

Already mentioned upthread. Was definitely calculated announcement yesterday which shows how ignorant this woman is. Or maybe her campaign did know but held their breath. I’d be interested to know exactly who knew.

Either she and her husband are broke or she has a psychological compulsion to sexually perform for people. Neither reason would make me want to vote for her.

She needs to drop out to devote more time to her kids, and the Dems need to put up someone who can win.

<sigh>

I doubt they needed the $, it's part of the fetish, in all likelihood. And now so much more attention has to be a thrill for people like that. Ick.

Either way, there is nothing she did that was illegal. Live and let live.

Prostitution is illegal here are some quotes it eludes to campaign fund raising

Gibson tells her husband: 'Ill let you f*** me in the a** doggy style in a private room if someone wants to pay. That's the deal.'

At another point she says: 'Y'all can watch me pee if you tip me and some tokens, again I'm raising money for a good cause.'

At another, Gibson explains she is in an open relationship with her husband even though he 'doesn't like sharing.'

Her husband, attorney John David Gibson, then says: 'Sometimes I have to though. She makes me.'

'I've had three in a day actually,' she says at another point. 'Don't tell my husband he was the third.'

'I’m married and I think the person I’m married to is amazing. But I love sex. I always have I always will. I don’t think that when you are in love with someone it means that you don’t want to f*** other people. Like love and sex are not mutually exclusive right,' Gibson explains of her marriage.

In many of the videos, Gibson urges viewers to provider her tips in the form of 'tokens' and promises to take viewers into a private online room for the right price.

'Y'all I need more tips ... They want anal and missionary but I'm only doing it if they're in a private room.'

'Racking up one token left and right, any more? I'm raising money for a really good cause,' she says at one point. It's unclear if she meant she was raising money for her campaign.

This isn't prostitution. Try again.

I would think Trump has destroyed any sort of bar or threshold of morality that politicians need to adhere to.

Not need to, get off on choosing to do so, then run for office to maximize eyes on those videos.

Their poor kids!

Well Virginians voted for Clinton and then Biden. Wasn’t close. So in Virginia, no.

Is that one of those designations you pay for? Shit law school.

No smart adult does this to their children. No need to have identifiable names except the humiliation fetish needed amping.

Nah, I'll stay here and fight for my rights. Thanks though.
