Wow, you’re charming. My husband was enlisted, got the community college degree through them THEN got another one at NoVA (the military training school didn’t translate to college courses) so that he could finally go on to get a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering. He worked his ass off and makes a very respectable salary as a govt contractor. Not bad for someone who just barely graduated HS. |
| It’s a scream for attention as well as trying to quiet the inner pain. Think about it. It is literally self-mutilation (and one that physically hurts like hell I gather). So if you can distract yourself with this, you will temporarily quiet your inner pain. Of course, that’s not really how that works, so you continue getting more tattoos until pretty soon half of your body is covered with tattoos. |
| Vatican, maybe. |
| My mother and father died most likely due to Tattoos because my mom got a blood transfusion during operation and contracted Hep C passed it to my Dad. They both died |
+1 Then when you age Tweety Bird turns into Big Bird. |
| Lots of military people have tattoos, and I would love to have them as neighbors. In San Diego, for example, there are neighborhoods that are very safe and have a great sense of community and are filled with tatted service members. |
LOL, what a fantasy! I’m sure some people get tattoos borne out of pain, but there are so very many OTHER reasons to choose them. |
I got a neighborhood for you, OP! |
You understand. I look at folks with tattoos with both sympathy & disgust. FWIW Those with tiny tattoos are the worst. Rather see Mike tyson face tattoo or Sean Penn back tattoo in Mystic River than some super trashy tiny ankle tattoo. |
| Tattoos just prove that there is no shortage of low class idiots in this world. |
They were being funny. Most neighborhoods in the DC area at 1 million plus won't have many people with visible tattoos OP. An exception might be in DC proper, because 1 million doesn't buy much there. |
You sound insufferable. |
| There are a small number of acceptable tattoos: a Princeton tiger head, a Skull and Bones 322, a symbol of your Seal Team. Most others are really not up to snuff. |
You're absurd. I live in a part of McLean where you can't buy a house for under $3m. People have tattoos here. ( I don't, but i'm on the older side of GenX) It's kind of funny that you think $800k houses around here are somehow keeping you away from...tattoos? The lower class? What? |
DH is a Marine Officer (not AD anymore, but once a Marine blah blah). I think you can add his USMC tattoo to your list, not that anyone will ever see it. He's the COO of a large IT company. Doubt anyone thinks he's lower class. |
