Worried for my friend—could this be grooming?

Do you have anxiety OP?

This is a complacent notion and the sort of nonchalance that gets kids hurt. Old men still have urges, and sexual predators don’t change.

Robert De Niro is 80 and is going to be a father again. Just saying.

Just saying what exactly? Come on.

Does living on a farm shield a person from SA? Or pedophilia?

No. It’s Chester the Molester.

Yeah, I would like a response here as well.

Those who work in law enforcement are certainly biased and their posts should be taken with a grain of salt. Not every man is a predator.
True, but how can you tell which ones are safe to be alone with kids?

Well are you checking on the women too? More likely to abuse and all. Lock up all women
In your life, do you know more friends/relatives molested by females than males?
most people are molested by a relative

Yeah, I would like a response here as well.

Go back and read, I already gave it maybe three times.

Since when does a single sahm move to a rural area with young kids where she is so lonely that she spends time socializing with an elderly neighbor? We have some prolific fiction writers here on DCUM.

And poor readers. Nowhere does OP said she’s single.

she's not going to listen to you because like the women on this thread most people live in lalaland where nice old men befriend little kids because they are kind.

In the real world people sexually molest infants and young children at a very high rate and they target single women with young children.

I'd say, "I'm worried that the kids are not safe alone with him." Then leave it alone.

You k iw a dude if reality that most people would rather pretend is not there.

I would never let my child go alone to a male neighbor’s house, unless I had known him for years and years.

You are a complete sexist who discounts all of the stay at home dads out there!

SAHD’s are freakin’ weirdo losers. Period.

Maybe the mom and kids are grooming the grandfather-type to be named in his will.

Yes, me too.
Does your friend’s husband know this all is going on?
If so - what are his thoughts on this?

I would tactfully voice my concerns to this friend (tactfully IS the word here…Lol!) but ultimately it is entirely up to her what she allows her kids to do.

There has been a recent uptick in posts on DCUM by “recently divorced single mothers” looking for somewhere, anywhere to live in the US in XYZ price range. The OP of these posts always implies or states that there is no father in the picture & that the mother will have full custody and latitude to move kids anywhere in the US that’s within the budget.

Anonymous wrote:Wow, a totally normal interaction with an elderly neighbor who was probably bored out of his gourd until this kind woman and her kids showed up is now "grooming"? Come on, 99.9% of people are NOT sexual predators. Stop living your life in fear, you'll be much happier.

This lady is allowing her two preschoolers to go out alone with an older man she just met a few months ago. I find it irresponsible. I am sure the guy is a nice man but if was the mom i would be with them the whole time
