Another Democrat switches parties to GOP

You folks have short memories

Remember when the vast right wing conspiracy turned out to be true?

I put nothing past the scheming Republicans

They keep showing America that they have, thanks to show pony John Roberts, unlimited dark money and zero morals.

People will make a big deal out of this but I bet all it means is that he wants to run statewide (hopefully for AG) and this will mean he has a chance.

Dallas has thrived under his Democratic policies so cities need more Republicans? No, that’s not someone gunning for higher office, that’s someone with a dead girl or a live boy in their Lindsey Graham portfolio and the GOP knows about it. It’s an organized event. It’ll come out in twenty years what the GOP was doing here.

Good for him. He has had enough of the Democratic policies that are ruining the cities.

Um, his own policies have been fine for his city.

Yes. And, they have been more in line with those of Republicans. Hence, the switch.

My guess is that there's foreign influence afoot. It's known that foreign governments target US politicians, CEO's etc. Once they have kompromat, they own them.

Yes, but they’ve been working with the GOP. Look at the tolerance in the GOP for the abject corruption of Clarence Thomas. To the extent that they discuss it, it’s all “both sides” and “if it’s not explicitly banned it’s allowed” garbage. No one seems willing to talk about the fact that the GOP and its voters are unhinged.

LOL. And, you folks accuse the Republicans here of conspiracy theories.

I agree. It's really sad to see potentially strong leaders becoming so disenchanted with their current awful party that they switch to the other major party which in this case is worse. How awesome would it be if we had two well functioning parties that we could proud of running our two party system instead of the garbage we feel stuck with now? God help us.

Well now. This thread highlights several former Democrats becoming Republicans.
Clearly, they believe the Democrats are so bad that they couldn't even hold their noses and stay a Democrat.
Speaks volumes.

Yes, it's becoming obvious that politicians too can become just as duped as voters are in having faith in either of our failed political parties.

Mayor Eric Johnson:

"Our cities are in disarray. Mayors and other local elected officials have failed to make public safety a priority ... Most of these local leaders are proud Democrats who view cities as laboratories for liberalism rather than as havens for opportunity and free enterprise."

Johnson also says Democrat policies "exacerbate homelessness, coddle criminals, and make it harder for ordinary people to make a living."
