Because of people like you who think masks are theater. Kn95 masks work. And they don't bruise your face. Nobody I know who religiously wore one at work/public places got Covid. Not one. Or even a cold! They all got sick when someone was unmasked in their home and they were too, or they were wearing a cloth mask or "they have no idea" but really they so but don't want to admit. I'm not a mask fanatic anymore, I don't mask at work (I teach) but I truly believe they work. |

Do I think masks are effective? No. When I am a visitor, do I complain about the rules in someone else’s house? No.
I just saw Six and realized the mask requirement on the way over. And I was not wild about it. BUT I loved the show! And there is no way I’m missing out on seeing shows again. Opting out of fun because you are over masks and the pandemic seems like you are cutting off your nose to spit your face. |
So you and your children don’t take statistics? Reducing your risk is not the same as eliminating your risk? I’m not a germ phobe but I would like to avoid getting something that would make me miss 2 months of work. |
An oppressive being. We should ban them from our streets. |
Then I hope you don’t go anywhere unmasked, including a restaurant or a friend or relative’s house. I hope you also send your children to school now in KN95’s because they are the most likely vector of disease to your family. I know you will insist you are taking all the those precautions too, but I don’t believe you. |
| The hysteria over needing to wear a mask for a few hours is ridiculous. Your opinion on efficacy is irrelevant. It’s part of the price of live performance at this venue. Meet the requirement or don’t go. End of. |

I think the mask rule is stupid and yet 100% agree with the bold. But I am dying laughing that posters think my surgical mask in the rear of the balcony is to protect the cast of the show (or anyone else for that matter.) Lol. |
| Hehehehehehehe |
| The arguments of the people claiming there’s NO way theater can go on without masks ring hollow when actual Broadway theaters don’t require them. |
Also, crappy masks don't do NOTHING. The messaging that cloth masks are not enough to reliably protect against omicron has been completely bastardized, no surprise. Let's say there is a covid shedder 15 feet from you at a theater. If you're sitting right next to that person for 2 hours, you're probably screwed no matter what kind of masks are being worn. But at 15 feet, a lot of time is needed to infect you. Two hours unmasked might be enough, but at that distance two hours with some sort of mask may not amount to enough viral load to cause infection. 1000 people in a theater is a big herd. Having the whole herd in KN95s is best. Having the herd in a variety of masks is better than an unmasked herd of 1000 individuals. |
So if you’re right, then we should be hearing all about outbreaks coming from Broadway theaters in NYC. Care to share articles about that? |
So go to NY. The Kennedy Center doesn't need your patronage. There are stupid rules all over the place. No beers after the 7th inning stretch at a baseball game? As if that substantially helps anyone or anything. |
| KC is a nursing home. |
Of course I'm right. It's logic. Why would there be articles about patrons getting sick from covid after attending Broadway shows? Nobody reports their cases anymore and few people can pinpoint where they got infected. |
