A vaccine does not stop you from spreading COVID. And if you're over 60, you can get very sick. You may not end up in the hospital but you could be out of commission for weeks. Why would you want to do that to someone? |
If you'll be unhappy in a mask, then don't go. |

To the people shouting "it's endemic--get over it--it's like the flu!"
There is such a thing as cold and flu season. Do you not see that there is no COVID season? We are at risk every time we walk into a crowded space at any time of year. Why wouldn't just spare others your COVID germs and put on a mask? |
Masks will come back to Broadway. Cases are up 20% over the last 14 days. It's only going to increase as people start to head indoors as the weather changes. And in DC, cases are up 42%. |
It'd be a lot more financially perilous for them to be found to be super spreader events or to infect their stars. |
| Why the eff does it bother you? It is WaY safer to mask, and it’s a tiny inconvenience. |
I’m actually really curious to see data on the relative risks of spreading flu after being vaccinated versus covid. I suspect it’s higher for covid but don’t really know. I remember one year (2014 maybe) when the flu vaccine was really poorly matched for the virus and lots of people got it—my own kids were going to school with mild cases of the virus and probably spreading it around because I had no idea they had flu until they gave it to my husband and we all got tested. I wish they’d develop rapid tests for flu. I love those covid rapid tests—give me so much peace of mind if one of the kids is really run down or sniffly. |
If you're over 60 you've had decades to go see live performances. Stay home. |
| Masks are forever at the KC. People die and get sick from teh flu too. Plan on never being able to go to a show without a mask. I lack understanding why I went to two shows last weekend in NYC, no masks, but alas this stupid little travelling venue thinks their ridiculous rules are better. I have one more ticket I bought when I though these fools would follow Broadway's lead... I will buy no more tickets until the idiotic management at the KC gets in touch with the world's realities. |
| Stop making your fears everyone else's problems. If you are vulnerable, double or triple masks. Why it has to be the world's responsibility to let the most fearful force the rest of us into masks. Before Biden we were complaining how the 1% were setting the rules of the 99... hypocrites |

Effective 10/18 The Kennedy Center will be mask optional. So I guess all those people saying they wouldn't go without a mask requirement will be handing in their tickets?
We just missed it with our Hamilton tickets (today) but at least it will be mask optional by Wicked. https://www.kennedy-center.org/visit/covid-safety/ |
| Wearing a mask is not as bad as requiring you to be vaccinated and I'm not sure at what # we are at for the booster. Something like fully vaccinated-what does that mean? Booster 1 and booster 2?? |
I guess "forever" = 10/18/22? |
lol |
Its not as simple as masking as studies have shown the need for multiple layers of mitigation. Biden is just as much the problem as anyone else. |
