In my opinion, PP knows to much. She/He has to be involved in the system. Be Careful! |
Any suggestions on good work samples? We are appealing our daughters ineligibility and I am not sure what to submit. The ones submitted by the school were very poor writing samples and I want to submit a couple that show her true potential. We are also submitting a superior WISC FSIQ and letters of recommendations.
Should they be writing samples or tests with 0++ on them because she went above and beyond what the short answer questions asked of her. Any help?? |
I think maybe a writing sample of something original she did at home. I'm not sure what her GBRS is but you may want to show that she does more at home than just what her teacher sees at school. |
She was found ineligible. Drop it! |
TROLL |
Fool! |
+1! Why don't these people just accept "no" for an answer and try again next year? The GT classrooms are overcrowded enough without letting in all these kids with marginal scores and GBRS, but whose parents just kept fighting and fighting to get them in, even to the point of looking into hiring a lawyer. |
See the troll is not the only one who feels this way! |
Not all GT classrooms are overcrowded. |
Hey Fool, Have you thrown up your breakfast yet? Oh maybe you are eating your third! |
then why don't they distribute them better around the county? Multiple classes in each grade at DC's AAP center are filled to capacity and then some. 30 kids is just too many for one teacher. |
Yep! |
Because that would mean even longer bus rides for some kids or farther for 2 parent working families to drive to get their kids to school. That is the compromise. This is one of the reasons why Local Level IV programs are so popular.

The guidelines for the county are 30-31 kids per es classroom. So, once a class hits 32 they add another teacher. The 30-31 vs 25 was the result of budget cuts. People do not want to pay more taxes. If the kids were not in AAP, there would be more gen ed students, and same number of teachers.
In fact, AAP really does not cost much...maybe a bit in transportation. |
But is still a TROLL! |
