It's because the truckers listen to right wing talk radio and podcasts all day long while driving down highways. They see very little of the real world beyond roadways, and their views are influenced by warped pundits. So yeah, they have no idea what's really going on in reality. |
What basically amounted to a sickout by air traffic controllers ended the longest government shutdown in American history. |
| Just watched a lovely video of the Canadian "truckers" harassing and spitting on reporters. What a bunch of idiots. |
They'll be fired, and all the people who depend on gas, food, and medications will be disgusted with them. They'll be replaced, by autonomous trucks if necessary. And they'll waste the rest of their lives drinking cheap beer, watching OANN, and dreaming of being heroes fighting against idiotic conspiracy theories. Go for it! |
That is within the right to protest. Now could they be arrested for breaking the law. Sure. |
| Can they be stopped before ever getting anywhere to disrupt? |
Idiots think they can just decide what their rights and the Constitution are. Sorry, but welcome to reality - rights and the Constitution have real meaning. It is not a right, nor Constitutional, to intentionally use a bunch of big trucks to clog interstate highways as a political stunt. That is illegal, even if it is a "protest." |

“One to three thousand people intend to gather near the Washington Monument on Tuesday, March 1, for a rally to oppose vaccine mandates and support trucker convoys in Canada.”

That's fine! That's what the Mall is for. I don't have to agree with them to support their right to protest lawfully. Blocking regional highway traffic to punish everyone around you? Nope, go to jail. |
The major trucking organizations don't support this. Most American truckers don't support this. This is a small group and they know it will not play out in the US like it did in Canada. There are many ways to shut this down. The police and DOT can do a lot to stop them. |
