Looks like we’re in for good times, as an American “Freedom Convoy” is headed to DC to disrupt the state of the union. According to some sources, the goal is to shut down the beltway.

Awesome. I'd love to see ten, twenty thousand trucks show up in DC. But I expect this will be pretty weak.
Blocking traffic I generally don't support beyond a slow roll, but if they want to park up on the Mall, block entrances to buildings, etc. I'm all for it. |

OP here. 1000% agree. But, the guy in the article seems to think it’s all kosher to sit there for days as long as they leave a lane open for emergency traffic. The Twitter comments are hysterical though: Fine by me, as long as it keeps MD drivers out of DC Etc. Maybe. But Youngkin is so green and so incompetent. He just doesn’t understand the whole governing thing. He’s going to be slow to do things like mobilize the guard. It increases the chance that things get out of hand in VA. (also, he like to cause chaos in NoVA, so there that’. Hogans may be an R. But, he did the right things during the insurrection. |

| I supported the Canadian truckers protest but this seems like something not very timely since so many mandates are already going away and the message is unclear about what it is trying to accomplish. Maybe yet another fake right wing protest complete with confederate flags, nooses, and the like. |

Yep +1. Truckers in the US live in red states and generally aren’t subject to a lot of COVID regs right now. The beauty of a democratic republic. I’m all for it and support them 100% but expect this to be a nothing-burger. Hilarious how much the mainstream media is trying to make it seem like some impending disaster though. Wouldn’t expect less. Keep doing what you’re doing lefties, clearly working!
