Can't believe no one has mentioned Jennifer Lopez. Can't sing, can't act either. She is a good dancer. If you notice every one of her songs has background singers because she can't sing at all.

I’m with you on Bruce Springsteen, but Queen? QUEEN?? Freddie Mercury is one of the best vocalists of all time.

I’m not a Billie Eilish fan, but I just took my kids to her concert and it was phenomenal. I have to admit, my favorite songs were the ones she sang with just a guitar. She is very talented and is also a good vocalist, even if her music isn’t my favorite (same goes for Adele).

and GRAMMYs voters.

Award shows are trash. They pick who they like. Not always someone who is deserving.

They pick who will get them ratings. Teenagers apparently.

She's always big with preschoolers too.

I agree with you, but I don't think she's overrated as a music artist because everyone acknowledges that she's not the best at it, and mainly does it to stay relevant/in the limelight than out of actual talent.

Taylor Swift writes of “kitchen table bills” in All Too Well. I like her music but I don’t like that she pretends to have been unpopular and financially struggling. Her dad is a stock broker. She attended expensive private school.

I can never remember if we're supposed to be contemptuous of Taylor Swift because all she does is write about her life or because she writes about things that didn't happen to her.

Ed Sheeran. Or any of the subgenre of overly emotive male singers. I blame John Legend. Or maybe Adele for making this treacle acceptable.

I mean, someone give Lewis Capaldi some buddy to love already.

Billie Eilish songs make me want to put a plastic bag over my head secured with duct tape. Not because her songs are depressing (I loved Joy Division) but because they are horrific to listen to.

It's all part of the victim narrative, like her failed relationship songs where she was the perfectly innocent partner who was wronged.

Proof you're not a TS fan.

How I feel about Taylor Swift.

TS fan or not, there's no denying she doesn't acknowledge her privileged upbringing and how it helped her career.

+1

I’ve never heard anyone rave about JLo’s musical talent or songs. She doesn’t write any music and can’t really sing. But I think that’s pretty commonly agreed up.

Name some successful singer/songwriters who do this.
