Overrated Music Artists That I just don't get...

Beyonce - eh? She's pretty but her music is terrible

Shawn Mendes is the only one I can think of. I don’t listen to Taylor swift or Billy Eilish or lots of other artists but I can see they are talented.

I totally agree. It's almost like he is trying too hard to be country - fake

I think a lot of her music is best appreciated by Black people. I didn’t get it until I saw a Black woman analyzing it and I was like, oh, that makes sense.

I don’t care for Beyoncé’s voice - kind of nasal-ly and off key.

But the treatment of her as a songwriting genius and performer for the ages...is far out of proportion to the actual content of her songs and albums. Not every solid singer/songwriter also has to be held up as some kind of genius.

I used to think this.... But during the pandemic, her albums Evermore and Folklore really hit me perfectly. Now I'm addicted. It's a little more folk/country, but not really pop. If you like Tori Amos, etc I think you might like these albums too.

Marshmello, I don’t understand the concept

I’m fuzzy on Dream as well.

+1 I was almost going to put her name, but agreed with the Billie Eilish one instead!

Beyonce -- her music is fun, but I don't get the "Queen Bey" levels of worship for it

I mean, if you like post-2000 Tori you might like anything. Otherwise, please don't compare pre-2000 Tori to Taylor Swift ever again. Sacrilege
