Republicans think CRT is anything that makes you feel uncomfortable about your race (albeit only if you're a white person). Teaching about slavery, Jim Crow laws, etc. makes some right wingers feel uncomfortable...therefore it is CRT. This is one of the reasons kids in Virginia and in other southern states are now going to have to learn about Lost Cause mythology as if it were a legitimate school of thought. |
| I for one will make sure my children learn all about Democrats— the party of slavery. No matter how many statues they remove or building names they change trying to hide. |
Just make sure your cover the 1960s when most of the Dixiecrats and racist Democrats became Republicans. |
Oh, you sweet, stupid child. Do you really think this intimidates anyone? Unlike you, we actually know history. |
Lots of kids mind wearing them. |
Set up a private school or move to Maryland if that’s the drivel you want to teach. Teaching that we are “inherently racist” thankfully won’t be allowed in Virginia. |
| So now Youngkin will have to take on APS, FCPS, ACPS, Richmond Public Schools and Albemarle County Public Schools all at the same time over this anti-masking EO. That’s quite the self-made governance crisis for his first weeks in office. Total rookie error because Youngkin has no experience in government and doesn’t understand how it works. |
Based on things like Republicans in Oklahoma trying to ban AP history classes because they're too negative/critical and don't cheer America enough,. |
Henrico too. |
Good for them. Glad to leadership with backbone. |
Hi there. I'm a Democrat and yes, we should absolutely teach about political parties that supported slavery in the 19th century. You see, Democrats today do not believe in hiding things like this, even if it doesn't portray our 19th century party in a good light.I have no love for Andrew Jackson. He was an appalling person and should be taken off our currency -- don't you agree? I am secure enough in my own beliefs that I have no problem with making clear the terrible mistakes of the Democratic party in the 19th century, and shining a light on the racism of its early members or even current members if they demonstrate it. I also believe that we should teach about how the parties shifted views in the 20th century, about how southern white Democrats left the party in droves to join the Republican party because of northern Democrats pushing for civil rights legislation. And name names. People iike Strom Thurmond, a member of the Democratic party who was a staunch opponent of civil rights legislation and a staunch supporter of segregation, who thankfully left the party to become a Republican. Do YOU support teaching that 20th century history, even if it shines a bad light on your party? Do YOU condemn people like Storm Thurmond for his repugnant anti-civil rights beliefs? FWIW if the stances of the Democratic and Republican parties had not changed at all since the 19th century, I would not be a Democrat today. Maybe that's the difference between modern Democrats and modern Republicans --I am a Democrat but I put my beliefs and the country before the party. But Republicans are all about the party and will absolutely put it before the common good and the good of our nation. |
Oh yes, he certainly appreciates you and wants you to wear no masks and go to school sick. But he appreciates you. |
How many parents are going to send their kids to public school without masks? Don't you trust your fellow Fairfax County resident? |
| LOL, he is about to meet NoVA. Lil' Trumpkin thinks he's king. |
Wait... Now he is outlawing masks? |
