I’m convinced the COVID zero/fear porn/anti Duran/anti masker is a major sock puppeteer. |
This thread is about opting into surveillance testing. Presumably if a kid is symptomatic, their parents will get them tested. |
Sounds like you are too if you're that observant of all of the DCUM boards. |
And I bet money that he also doesn't have kids in APS. |
AGREE nor in DMV |
Just was at 2 North Arlington grocery stores today. Saw plenty of non-mask wearers. Keep it up!
Don't opt into surveillance testing! That's just a way to lock healthy kids out of school. We don't surveillance test for the flu. Don't sign up for it for COVID. You're only hurting yourself as COVID is here to stay. |
Honestly, the logic of "the restaurants aren't doing it," and "the gyms aren't doing it" is just absurd. Since when have those two sectors been the gold standard for educating and protecting children's public health? Most kids aren't even allowed in gyms. Look, I get your point that other places are less restrictive so why should schools create a safer environment. Do you hear your immense privilege there? You life experience as taught you that if there is an easier or more convenient way to do something, they you should be entitled to that. Some of us have had the life experience that others are given or take short cuts and things work out fine while if we try that we pay for it for the rest of our lives. |
You're wanting to put the burden of COVID mitigation solely on children. That's disgusting. We know how low of risk children have with COVID (less than the risk they take riding in a car to school). COVID will be here forever. Everyone will get it. This is just putting the burden on children, so you can unsuccessfully try to avoid a virus that everyone will get. And you're penalizing children. Absolutely disgusting. DO NOT OPT IN TO THIS TESTING! IT IS SCHOOL CLOSURES BY STEALTH |
Wow. Was there data showing that patients with covid had diminished brain function? |
If you don't make some attempt to keep people with covid out of school, they will transmit it to more people, including teachers -- then our schools will run out of healthy teachers and schools will shut down.
You are your own worst enemy. But go off. |

I'm not wanting to put the burden of COVID mitigation solely on children. First, I'm pointing out that restaurants and gyms aren't the best standard to look at when creating a healthy educational environment for kids. Second, I actually think there are a lot of very selfish adults. Sure adults are tired of the past two years. We're ALL tired, but that doesn't excuse selfishness, and 2 years in I have a hard time assuming many people are still clueless. Third, I have an under 5 child with health issues and older child who is school aged. Because too many parents won't take basic mitigation requirements (like teach their kids to mask, test their kids to slow the spread, keep kids home when they're sick) I'm faced with some really tough choices that help one child but hurt the other, and vice versa. All I'm asking is for my at risk under 5 to have a vaccine and for treatments to be available for their age group. in the meantime, I am begging parents who read this to teach masking, test your kids, keep them home when they're sick. Please. |
Jfc. It’s not solely putting the burden on children. Many of us have to test at work, in person. Many daily. Lose the melodrama. |
Immunocompromised people did not start existing in March 2020. I feel for your child, but there are 200 endemic respiratory viruses. Your child would have problems during flu seasons. H1N1 killed way more kids on annual basis than COVID. Your child would still have problems even if everyone just masked harder, as you want. This is a highly transmissible respiratory virus. Virus is going to virus. My kids have stopped with all COVID restrictions since this summer and will not do them any longer. The majority of the country has. Time to move on. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR TESTING! THIS IS LOCKING HEALTHY KIDS OUT OF SCHOOL. |
Haha - just mask harder, this will all go away. I'm surprised he's not suggesting that if we just did a total lockdown for 2 weeks, COVID would be eradicated. Everyone's going to have to learn to live with COVID. It's not going away. |
