I am at 60 mailed around Dec 2 with 14 as of today. I paired down list to only really good friends and close relatives. It used to be 100 three years ago.
Pretty sad. It is not the mail as I mailed two bills last week and both checks cashed. I be ok if I got no more cards late people. I trim list more and still keep my elderly relatives who enjoy cards but too old to really send out cards. I was thinking maybe next Nov 2nd we all ring the late folks doorbells and yell trick or treat. Why not? They are cool with doing things late. |
| Better late than never. I don’t think I will ever get them out again. |
| I seriously can’t believe people put this much thought into receiving cards. |
Something tells me you also closely track how many linkedin, FB and insta followers you have. True or false OP? |
| This is why I don’t send holiday cards anymore. 11 pages?!! |
So for you, the joy in receiving Xmas cards is in showing them off to other people at your Christmas gathering. For other people, the joy is to see photos or read about their loved ones, whenever the card arrives. |
| Ew. They aren't mandatory... be grateful they think of you. |
I feel sorry for you. |
wow....just wow.....

Right? My mind is boggled. It’s a nice gesture. Who cares when they arrive? People need to get over themselves. |
People are crazy. We haven’t even taken a picture yet much less sent out cards. Children are just back from college so maybe we will do a happy New Years card. |
Agree with all of the above. A nice gesture is definitely lost on some people. I added a happy New Years on our cards because I didn’t know when people would actually get them this year. |

OP as of today 60 mailed and 15 received.
I was running errands last night and dropped off mail (non Xmas related at 430pm) at Post office. I saw a line of folks mailing Xmas gifts. Really in 12-22? Few folks dropping off cards. I finish errands drive by post office on way home see a whole pack of mini vans and subs dropping off cards at 515 pm. Literally after last pick up! Why bother. I am not on social media at all. I rarely text. Just immediate family and siblings. So I have zero social media presence. I do have what’s app for European cousins on my side. If they are a to text merry Xmas that is cool. I guess class has died. I had a niece who got engaged and did not send out thank you notes or even texts or call to say got present. Her mom called her out and she responded when I cash their checks they know I got them so good enough! Wow. Did not get Xmas card from them either. Although did not send one as they made it clear. My two old grand aunts in their 90s literally in nursing homes on dead beds told us cards bring them a little joy at Xmas since they are so sick and old. So of course that is too much work for today’s 40 year old to pause Netflix one minute to bring a dying women some joy. |
Your posts and commentary and general demeanor are proof for everyone that class has died. Or that you never had any to begin with. No social skills either. We doubt you have many friends, since you really come across as a total douchebag. |
I did my college kids Xmas picture at thanksgiving. Even if I did not they got home last Friday so could have done it then and had in mail on Sunday. My 82 year old relative with an 86 year old sick husband who moved homes this summer was my first card received Thanksgiving weekend. |
