Why do some folks send Xmas cards so late?

Pope Gregorian Catholic Calendar? Not religious?

You dummy the cards reflect who you are sending them to not you.

My Jewish friends got them for their holiday. My Christian Friends their holiday. In fact my two Jewish Friends wished me Merry Christmas and on time. Why I recognized their holiday by name. Just like my Muslim
and Hindu friends. Control the narrative make it about you. We get it there is no Santa Clause or Jesus in your mind. Be sure to include the lump of coal in your card.

I’m conflicted. In some ways, I would like to have your life so that I would have the luxury of worrying about things like this so much. On the other hand, it doesn’t actually se pleasant to worry about things like this so much.

I’m super depressed, ok? I’ll get my cards out eventually.

What is wrong with a New Years card? Why do rigid about people reaching out to wish you cheer? There is more than one way to send a card.

I do this too. A lot of people experience depression on the holidays and find it hard to get things like cards done (reaching out is hard. Feeling like you need to say something about how you’ve been.)

Because the New Year is also a holiday.

Surely you know that the New Year is a holy day of obligation.

Give yourself the gift of freedom- put them in the trash. Release yourself from the albatross of sending them.

I plan on sending out 10 Christmas cards today to my enemies. They are five days late. I hope they feel the burn.

I’m cackling as I sit in my living room imagining getting angry that someone who cared enough to be in touch did it in the wrong way. Life must be very drama filled if this makes some people upset.

I’m off to the post office with some returns and a few cards. The last ones will go out tomorrow. You know which ones I send last? The ones to people like OP where I feel a need to write a note, left I be judged, but I don’t have sincere and affectionate greetings to send.

I couldn't tell you who sends their cards on time and who doesn't. It's part of the same psychology, I'm sure, that goes into why you get mine late. I'm a little disorganized. But I'm also far less judgemental and probably a lot more fun than OP, so there's that .

I ask as a few folks year after year mail it so late.

I also go to NY to see family most years and some cousins will be at Xmas with us and when I get back home to the DMV the card is there. Why mail it so late that you see me in person at Xmas before I get the card? I get folks are busy we all been there. But I had one person mail literally a card that is a Christmas card I get it after Xmas every year the last 30 years!! I usually have taken down cards by then so awkward.

One year my wife and I had a lot of things going on Illness, death of my mother and paired down list and did not mail the late people as we assumed only sending us a card since we sent one to them. Guess what they still came. Usually day after Xmas.

Why do they do it? Two are now literally empty nesters and retired. So they have time.

Great topic. Made me think of this,

OP January 1st is Mary Mother of God Day Day and a Holy Day of Obligation.

So I am to believe the late folks are not celebrating the Jewish Holidays, Xmas or Kwanza but the celebration of Mary the Mother of Jesus?

Fine then put it in the card. My cards today said Merry Christmas. Just late not a celebration of Mary. A celebration of passive aggressive laziness more like it.
