Accepted ED but ex refuses to help pay

Your kid can get married or have a kid to be considered an adult and get different financial aid. Other than that it’s on you is the custodial parent to take out loans. This should’ve been discussed before she put a ED. As custodial parent when you sign the ED application you should’ve understood you were paying for it not the secondary parent. Good luck.

By the way loan beyond $5500 are yours. Anyway you signed paperwork for ED. Read what u sign in future. No sympathy for you to dump on non casodial parent.

Big surprise that she uses words like "demand" to describe how his kids and their mom presented the need for him to pony up like every other father does.

Thank goodness my kid's dad isn't such a heartless jerk and that he didn't marry a greedy woman who thinks she has any say whatsoever in the relationship between my kid and their dad.

I thought that there was something like that going on. yes, thank goodness that your kid's dad has taken that path - must be a huge relief.
