In pool email just came

I can see that while we got a central email last night, that does not preclude the school from sending a letter today, maybe even with a cogat score in our wednesday envelope like a PP says they got.

I’m Madison pyramid and I don’t see reports from ours so far yet either.

Oakton Pyramid got pool letters

FWIW I'm in Madison and I haven't seen/heard anything... but could just mean I didn't get email.

Verbal: 132/9/98
Quantitative: 142/9/99
Non-Verbal: 131/9/97

Composite(VQN): 142/9/99

I wish he score a little bit more in Non-verbal. Got the pool email, fingers crossed. I just hope he gets in.

I'm always confused by this. How does a 132 + 142 + 131 = a composite score of 142?

Because it is not a average, it is based on age norming/percentiles.

It's based on how likely the full distribution of scores is, not an average of the scores. I believe high scores in all categories can sometimes even lead to a composite that's higher than any subsection.

We are in the Justice pyramid and got the email last night.

Here is the thing, I doubt FCPS will handle this school by school, or pyramid by pyramid. Makes no sense to do this given the volatility this program incites from the parental population. Only adds fuel to the fire when this process is not standardized. School administrations don't usually disregard Gatehouse rules. If Lemon Road received scores (and that isn't a troll), all schools will get it today. Or at a minimum, if you ask your school, you'll now be told when to expect it. LR has approx 600 students, give or take. Other schools have 1000+ kids. But you'll know if it is now expected to arrive within the week. Otherwise assume the Lemon Road posting is also a troll. On a board the size of this, there are no "one offs".

Have you had kids in FCPS long? Because they do random stuff on a school by school basis all. the. time.

+1

I totally believe the poster from the other thread who said their schools distributed scores weeks ago.

They do, definitely. But when it comes to the AAP program, those random decisions usually don't go down well.

ALL. THE. TIME.

I would say wait until this Friday evening to get the scores. Most of the schools should send the scores this week. If LR has it sent home today, all other schools will certainly send them by Friday latest.
Now that the pool email is sent out, they know they can’t make the parents wait longer. To avoid questions they will send scores this week.

I got a pool email. My DD scored 123 in NNAT, marshal pyramid. The schools have the cogat and based on that they sent pool information to central committee who sent the pool email.

The assessment office scored the Cogat and sent it to the AAP committee per FCPS's own AAP schedule doc. Schools weren't supposed to get it until 12/13 but apparently got it early. Pool letters weren't supposed to go out until 12/10 either.
