This and I am bewildered as to why the city and the school board STILL have not required city and school employees to be vaccinated, LIKE EVERYWHERE ELSE. Alexandria city council, the mayor and the school board LOVE to do anything that is uber liberal, anything. Yes, I live in Alexandria for over 20 years and I’m a Democrat but the politics here have gone in a downward spiral (the vaccine equity, the Hutchings’ many anti parent tirades, bike lanes, guaranteed income program, etc). Wilson would go to the opening of an envelope if it meant he got his name in the paper. But the refusal of the city to require employees to get vaccinated (when Northam already required state employees) or Hutchings to refuse to require it of school employees just seems beyond strange, illogical and unsafe.

If all the kids have to wear masks (which I support) then all the adults working there need to be vaccinated. Seriously, WTH?!

Same here. I might be in the minority but I don’t want to be notified every time there is a case in my school, or my son’s. I just want to know if I’m a close contact (only happened once)

Someone who has been working on-site for almost all of this. We have had numerous employees come down with COVID, and we've all been subject to the 'close contact' notifications. But not one single transmission at work. Every employee who caught COVID got it somewhere outside of work, and even if they were on site sharing an office or small conference room, not one passed it to a single other employee. Mitigations work.

Without weekly testing, we will not know the spread. A work environment is very different than school.

+1 Schools have been a source of spread and transmission.

Hhhmmm...I disagree about "official channels" since there are not any. No one is required to report anything. There have been threads about it. Many of us wish there were "official channels." If there were, and if they were transparent and truthful, then I would be happy.
