Nor Loudoun. This board is so dramatic. |
Just one case causes significant disruption for lots of people. |
Just one case causes a lot more cases. |
Exactly. |
I mean, what did you expect to happen? COVID is spreading. With Delta, if you are sending your children to school in person you are implicitly okay with the risk of them getting COVID.
This is where we landed. My kids are going in person next week. I’m expecting cases. Hopefully they won’t be ours. But the risk to my children of missing out on socialization, academics (I have one who receives special education services and one kinder), and my job risk are greater than their risk from COVID, which is not zero. If your child is high risk, and one positive case strikes this much fear and anxiety, you should probably stay virtual. This is not March 2020. We don’t need a post for each positive case. |
A surgical mask is 100x better than the cloth masks most of them wear. Be grateful if your kid’s teacher is in a surgical mask instead of old navy’s fabric scraps. |
They need random testing. Saw counties further up north doing that and only once did everyone have to quarantine because they caught an asymptomatic case. |
Not always. I’m in a work environment that has been in person since last spring and my kids did in person school last year. Multiple examples of the one case not spreading. |
This is exactly it. End the thread. |
Newsflash: There will be covid cases in schools. Also Newsfash: There will be covid cases in the community. Final Newsfash: The goal is mitigation not covid-free schools. |
