Will add that both times this corresponded with the new moon (within a few days of each).

39 weeks 1 day
40 weeks 1 day
40 weeks

Is when my 3 kids were born - no induction on any.

My mother and two older sisters always went 7-10 days late, so thought the same would happen to me but:
# 1 39 weeks, 6 days
# 2 38 weeks, 5 days
# 3 38 weeks, 3 days
All vaginal births (over 8 years). I was fairly certain my third would be my last and was trying to "cherish" that time but it was my most uncomfortable pregnancy so it was hard not to be impatient. Hang in there!

Water broke at 37+2 THREE times.

Mine have been very consistent. 3 born naturally at 41, 41+1, 41+2. I’ve got about 7 weeks to go until #4 is born. I have changed my due date in my mind to 41 weeks.

1- 32w6d
2- 37w3d
3- 38w5d

My second birth was 1.5 hours from first contraction to baby in arms, third was 13 hours of labor. It’s all about positioning. Check out spinning babies OP! See if you can get a peanut ball and lay with it between your legs.

Fwiw: I had the progesterone injections with my last two and found out a week or so later from an ACOG study that the previous study on pio injections was flawed! They do not recommend it anymore to prevent preterm labor. Would have been nice to know.

PP again...my mother and all of her siblings and myself and all of my siblings were born preterm. My grandmother was born at 7 months in 1918! Her twin died and she was kept in a box on the back of the stove and fed with a dropper until she was old enough to feed normally! There is a very strong correlation between prematurity and genetics!

My mother nearly gave birth to me at 5 months, but with progesterone injections managed to hold on until 38 weeks.
When I mentioned this to my OB, they did not see a reason to give me the same injections for my first pregnancy, and DC was born at 32 weeks, with lifelong consequences.
I insisted on the progesterone injections for my second pregnancy, and will warn my DD that she might face the same challenges if she gets pregnant.

Best of luck to you, OP.

Wow, that's early! So it's true what I read, that if your mom or even your baby's dad's mom had early labors, you are more likely too!

I've heard the thing about your mom's labor being a factor (maternal grandmother), but never that the paternal grandmother's labor should be considered.

The thing is that you just don't know because their dates aren't as accurate as our dates are now. My MIL thinks DH was 3 weeks late, but I just don't believe it. I was late too but my mom only had one baby, so it's hard to know if others would have been late. Maternal grandma had babies early that just "fell out." My mom's labor was 30+ hours and then she just decided she'd had enough and had a c section. My 3 labors were all 35-45 hours of induction at 41 weeks.

I think that paternal grandma's genes and labors should be taken into account. My family all had small/normal 7lbers. DH's family had HUGE babies and so did I, even though physically I'm petite and should have had small babies.
