38 weeks 3 days pregnant, for the 3rd time in just 4 years.
I am so much more impatient this time around. Everything is healthy, no issues, but this is what I'm wondering: I went into labor and gave birth at exactly 39 weeks the last 2 times. Really wonderful labor and delivery both times- no induction/emergency/epidural/tearing - can't complain! Now that I have the precedent of going to into labor a week early twice, I keep expecting I will go into labor even earlier this time. (And I sincerely hope for that!) What I'm wondering is, does anyone else have a pattern or early labor and delivery - if you've had at least 2? Just curious. I feel like if I go to the full 40 weeks or longer I will be devastated, LOL! |
| Yes. First was one week early, second was two weeks early ☺️ |

Family history of early labor.
My mother nearly gave birth to me at 5 months, but with progesterone injections managed to hold on until 38 weeks. When I mentioned this to my OB, they did not see a reason to give me the same injections for my first pregnancy, and DC was born at 32 weeks, with lifelong consequences. I insisted on the progesterone injections for my second pregnancy, and will warn my DD that she might face the same challenges if she gets pregnant. Best of luck to you, OP. |
OP here- thank you both! I am all set for labor any day- I think the odds are that I'd once again have a 39 week (or earlier) delivery - but am just so excited and impatient, it's that weird feeling of "any day now!!" Thankfully I'm working (and caring for a toddler) so that keeps me busy. Just cannot wait

| Mother of three here. I had them in a 4 and a half year span. For the love of Mike don't be impatient. The jump from 2 to 3 is HUGE. Enjoy this time and rest up. Chaos is coming. |

I went into labor on my own with 3:
40w 3d 40w 1d 40w 5d I was so impatient with the last one, but looking back they really were very similar timelines. It’s so hard to wait at the end! |
Wow, that's early! So it's true what I read, that if your mom or even your baby's dad's mom had early labors, you are more likely too! |
OP here - yeah, those timelines are pretty similar! Oh man I feel you with impatience for 3rd one. Especially since your 3rd was actually the latest! I have a lot more empathy for moms who go over 40 or 41 weeks. Even if you're healthy and don't have any complications, the waiting itself is hard. |
| 1st two came early by 10 days, expected the same with #3, nope and nope! Was told the 3rd is always a wild card and in my case the wild card didn’t want to leave the deck! Came on due date, it was torture and I was pretty emotionally unstable by the end cause everyone kept asking what not yet??? Suck it! |

1st - 2 days early
2nd - 10 days early 3rd - Don’t remember, maybe 5 days early? All were vaginal births with no epidurals. |
|
Baby #1. 39 weeks 2 days
Baby #2. 39 weeks 2 days Baby #3. 40 weeks 2 days That last week was the longest of my life. |
|
Sorry OP.
39+2 39+2 40+1 Third was the longest labor, too. |
| Mom of two here, and both of my children were born at 38 weeks 1 day. |
|
Baby 1 - 41 + 1 and 36 hour induction
Baby 2 - 38 + 3 and 6 hour spontaneous labor Baby 3 - 38 and 15 hours spontaneous labor |
| My kids got later and later with time. |
