USWNT Game 5 Spoiler 🚨

Don't worry we get to see another game for the bronze medal match. I'm sure they're going to be really enthusiastic for that one, rematch with Sweden or australia? That'll be an exciting game. Lol

They are losing supporters. Not gaining.

Penalty would be valid because Davidson strikes face of attacker.
Give Davidson more starts and experience (which she should have had already) and she makes the same play but outside the box.

US 5 games 3 games failed to score. 2 W 1T. 2L
Managed 1 regular time win against NZ in 5 games
Lloyd Morgan Rapinoe Heath Lavalle Press etc.
failed to score in 3 of 5 games

5 games in 13 days. This team was poorly designed rostered and tactics. This was failure on a physical mental and tactical level. Honestly this team has been good enough to get by on 1 of those but not anymore. Interesting to see if Vlatko becomes a sacrificial goat to protect all the GOATs.

For that game play Macario etc.

Lloyd and mOrgan and all are already match tired and unfit.

Clear video of the penalty btw.

That is absolutely insane. I am glad the USWNT lost, they have looked horrible this tournament and did not deserve to play for gold. Plus, I can’t stand much of their off the field actions…

But no way, in any universe, is that a penalty. I can’t basically sprint from across the field, throw my face into the defender’s arm at the edge of the box, and expect a penalty. That is absolutely laughable and ridiculous.

Our best left back, Jaelene Daniels, was not even called up, because a couple years ago she refused to wear rainbow jersey for religious reasons. If they called her up, they could have played Dunn in her natural position as a winger. Too many players on this team are on the wrong side of 30 and got their call up based their past reputation. They need to rebuild the squad, clear out the dead weight, and add young hungry players (e.g., Macario).

Jaelene Daniels retired from soccer last year.

3rd place Australia vs US... not even gonna watch.

Typical Americans think they should dominate and win gold all the time. Even the men’s basketball team loses sometimes.

I did not realize that she retired. In any event, they need an infusion of younger players badly.

Not that it matters much now and perhaps still debatable, but it was called for Davidson kicking the attacker as she tried to clear the ball, not for the hand/arm to the face.

As a woman and former college soccer player, they annoy the f**ck out of me off the field.

Canada wins on the lamest PK call I’ve seen, but the US were far from deserving. Despite dominating possession they rarely looked threatening. Two close headers. That’s it. No credible threat up top. Lavelle played horribly. Horan was lazy. Davidson lacking. Sauerbraun with poor distribution all game. Press with tunnel vision. Morgan with no moves and inability to head. Rapinoe and Lloyd, just too darn old. Mewis was a ghost. Only Dunn and Ertz played well the entire tourney, but Ertz is also slow now.

Other thought is that all the Euro lovers were wrong. 3 of 4 final teams were outside of Europe. Having said that Sweden does look the best, but could lose like the US if they don’t pay attention.

Yes there are no players on any of those 3 teams that played in Europe. Absolutely none from the US Canada game.

FW Janine Beckie Manchester City (ENG)
FW Adriana Leon West Ham (ENG)
MF Jessie Fleming Chelsea FC (ENG)
DF Ashley Lawrence Paris Saint-Germain (FRA)
DF Shelina Zadorsky Tottenham Hotspur (ENG)
DF Vanessa GIlles Girondins Bordeaux (FRA)
DF Kadeisha Buchanan Olympique Lyonnais (FRA)
GK Stephanie Labbe FC Rosengard (SWE)

Dahlkemper Man City
Heath Man U
Press Man U
Lavelle Man City
Macario Lyonnais
S. Mewis Man City
Morgan Tottenham Hotspur

Lavelle is the class of the US players. The problem is she gets the ball at midfield instead of the final 1/3. This is the US coach’s fault.

On the flip side, Berhalter took a mostly young B team to a Gold Cup win. Not a dominant performance in any game, really, but they showed a desire to go out and compete for the wins. Seems like the men's and women's teams are going in opposite directions, again.

Don’t you think she retired at 30 because she was paid NWSL wage and not the USWNT subsidy wage ??
Equal pay for women v men
But not equal opportunity or pay for players with whom we disagree. The team ran her off and then ran their mouths about it.
