Penalties beat Spain in WC penalty beat Netherlands in WC Rose LaVelle is still the youngest player in this team
Lavelle is 26. In the soccer world that is your prime. She is a technical player with a high speed of play who does not have anyone to play with. She is wasted on this team.
I'm not positive that there are that many young technical players ready to step in, but here's hoping. I will say that I've been blown away by Trinity Rodman in the NWSL this season. She's fast, technical, and an amazing play maker in her first year in the NWSL. I see her as a future star.
She should go to Europe and learn how to play. The women European club teams are playing a game that looks a lot like the European men’s club teams in terms of style and it is fun to watch. It is a lot more sophisticated vs what the women are doing here. The speed of play and technical abilities are a lot higher. It is becoming like the men’s side. Watching the USMNT in the gold cup with the domestic players you can see the slower speed of play vs when they bring the European based players in.
