Why is it okay to make comments like this regarding women who are 30 + and single?

Spot on

I wish they'd leave other women alone. It's always something.

If you're single, why aren't you married?
If you're married, why don't you have kids?
If you have one kid, why don't you have two?
If you two, why not four?
If you have four, why are they in public school?
If your husband is drunk or a bad 'provider', that's your fault - why did you choose him?
If your marriage is on the rocks, oh - you're divorced? We don't want you around.

NP. I agree with this. It is incomprehensible to some women that not every woman wants to get married.

Another NP. I think these comments are coming from men. Incels, MGTOW, or just regular misogynists. The usual suspects on this board.

What if you only had a 3-year starter marriage like Padma Lakshmi?

What if you got married late and never had kids like Kamala Harris?

What if you've been divorced or 'single' for over a decade like Katie Couric?

What if you married a douchebag like Meghan Edmonds King or Kate Gosselin + forced to raise 3-10 kids on your own?

Wake up.

40 year old single lady whining on DCUM relationship forum why she can’t find a good man is not Elizabeth Hurley or Naomi Campbell. She also isn’t the Vice President.

I can usually tell by the writing style when a guy is commenting. This is man style snark here.

Oh got it - so you only pity the lower middle class or working poor who aren't married?

Hahahaha yes this exactly. Can't stop laughing at the comparisons in this PP.

To be fair, a 37-year-old woman, and many of the responders on the post about divorced dads (or dad's as she referred to them) acted as if men with children were somehow 'damaged goods', and she would do better elsewhere. How is that kind?

-Not a man

Honestly, what I have found is women are very mean to other women and really don't come for help or sympathy till anyone is in real trouble. A case I have seen very less in men. They wouldn't put each other down for such small stuff. They have other issues but this is not one of them.

OP didn't act as if the dads were damaged goods she asked if it would be reasonable to be open to dating them. Not wanting to become a stepmom at a young age or wanting to deal with the complexities of a blended family is not the same thing as misogyny. Stop excusing misogyny.

An example of this is the post immediately above yours, yet these same women are quick to defend poor behavior in men and call it being "fair".

I would love to see what some of the people who post nasty responses on here actually look like. Bet they are average at best and have awful personalities.

You must be sensitive about this topic. Other groups get it wag worse on this board and don’t feel the need to start a topic to complain.

Just read Bridget Jones Diary. It's old, and a bit dated, but her takedown of Smug Marrieds is pretty hilarious.
